Default BCB will lose money in the SA seires

Nimbus'rey pita. khali India india koray!!
BCB Finance committee chairman M Abdul Momen
Quote:
"Our budget for the tour is Tk 3.75 crore and what we are going to receive from Nimbus and other sponsors for the series would be much less. And we can't do that in every series by signing the long-term agreement without ensuring our desired adjustments"
dailystar
Quote:
"We have received the Nimbus reply yesterday regarding the three-day meeting we had in the city last month. I have already handed one copy to our president and another to our lawyer. We will inform about what we have discussed with the Nimbus representatives and so far what kind of feedback we've got from them," said Momen yesterday.

"Apparently the Nimbus report has some positives but we have to scrutinise everything by our expert before reaching a conclusion," he added.

The BCB's core committee put forward some 'adjustment' proposals to the Nimbus delegation during their marathon meeting in Dhaka and Momen reiterated his demand that they would put pen to paper for the long-term deal only when BCB's interest would be protected.

"The important thing is that there are some indication in the Nimbus report about BCB's serious concern over losing money in seven series where India would not be taking part. We have to ensure one thing that we will not be the loser in the end," he said.

Momen also said that they have to make special drive for ensuring India's tour to Bangladesh as per the schedule of Future Tour Programme (FTP) of International Cricket Council (ICC).

"We are trying to make some adjustments in the series which we will play against opponents other than India. But you know our interest lies in the series involving India but there is uncertainty over India's next tour. We have to make special drive for ensure India's participation," said Momen.
On a side note from that script: dailystar
Quote:
The committee led by Maj Gen Sina Ibn Jamali is likely to confirm two major appointments in new chief executive officer and national team operations manager besides confirmation of two foreign coaches in the development programme.

There is also a chance to see some reshuffling in the posts of sub-committees and most likely a new face will be seen in the demanding post of chairman of the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis, which is now occupied by former national skipper Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu.

I don't understand what the previous board was thinking when they signed up for the deal. Didn't they not realise this before that we are gono loose money in every tournament not involving India. They need to hire some math teachers, who can teach them to add and subtract. Forget about multiplication and division. They are not old enough yet !

Well, not really surprised.
Our cricket doesnt really worth 60 million in the first place. So, when they decided to pay us that much, it was easy to see the loopholes.
Offcourse im not an expert in this sorta things, but i always had a doubt about HOW we are getting those money.

Now that the old regime is gone, the fault lines are cracking one by one.

What BCB and Nimbus has publicised is 60 Million, what they didnt is how and when they are getting.

I say scrap it. Time to make a new deal. May be we wont get as much as 60 mill, but whatever it is, there will be a clear picture.

Its very important for BCB to know exactly how much they are getting. Cuz they need to set up their administration, payroll ( both player and admins), development and expansion of the game accordingly.

But most importantly, our players need to perform.

Why Ashraful is stupid? He is the ACC boss. In fact I thought the current BCB was formed based on his feedback.

What I realized is that apx $20 Mllion will go for production cost. Plus there are other cost. there will be 7 series where BCB will loose money. Suppose India cant play for any reason then they cant even make up losses. Looks like $60 Million is just paper money, in fact BCB wont get anything out of this!

I say scarp this silly deal and open a new tender. I am sure there are others who has more to offer.

You are right. That deal was too Indo centric and the money shown as revenue is contingent upon India playing us which is another matter that doesn't raise much hope. Monopoly money if you ask me. Scrap the deal if we must and re-tender.

Bangladesh need to win some matches to get attention these days ;

India played better in Australia & won a test , which was the second country to beat Australia at Perth ;

So , India is a better team ;

Why blame Nimbus?! If anyone is to be blamed, blame our countrymen who sold us down the river.

My local cricket channel is not televising these matches. They will televise the NZ/Eng
matches, but they said that they may show highlights, but this is after the fact.

according to ittefaq Warid telecom has bought the title rights from the ad company that won the rights from BCB. now my question is why didn't warid telecom applied for the title directly to BCB? i mean they r paying more than what that agency will pay BCB. Its so fishy...

i think this is common business. You buy tangible assets and then you resell them to someone else. Now the rights are not tangible, nevertheless, same concept. Fish nai eikhaney.

It would have made sense if there was some criteria on who can submit for the title with BCB. I haven't heard anything like that yet. for example to bid for state works you have to be registrared with the state (which has a lot of problem to do). now if BCB has some rules on who can bid this would make sense which I doubt.

So the question is why Warid didn't bid on the thing directly?
