Hason Raja is my favorite folk singer.

Abdul Alim is also great.

But would love to know about the following terms and what distintguishes one from other —

Bhatiyali
Baul
Bhawaiyaa
Shari

And add others if I missed any.

I am not too familiar with the differences myself.
"Bhatiyali" I believe are songs sung/composed by or for "majhis" (boatmen).

The Legend Ratna Rashid Banarjee on Jaari Gaan of Bengal - explains how music creates bonding between the hindus and the muslims - Only in the great Bengal! What a beauty, it gets me extreemly emotional listening to her.
