BCB drops media manger to make room for stupid politicians
BCB drops media manger
Staff Correspondent
The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday dropped the name of media manager from the Bangladesh contingent of the ICC World Twenty20 and instead included one of their directors as an observer.
The BCB director, Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir will now tour to the West Indies at the expense of media manager Rabeed Imam, who will have to unpack his baggage despite the visa and ticket were ready.
The decision to add an observer was taken in an emergency meeting of the BCB, which finalised the name of the tour party. Vice-president Asaduzzaman Khasru was appointed as the head of the Bangladesh delegation while Tanjib Ahsan Saad was confirmed as manger, replacing Shafiqul Haque.
The BCB also decided to bring back Mohammad Salahuddin as the fielding coach, replacing Sri Lankan Ruwan Kalpage, whose contract expired in March.
The BCB meeting also appointed Sakib al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim as captain and vice-captain of the side until the tour of England in May.
Bangladesh will leave for ICC World Twenty20 on April 24

I am simply disgusted!
I think this BCB adminstration/leadership is the worst in BCB's history which shamelessly and repeatedly tortured, destroyed and violated the agency and Bangladesh Cricket!
Yes, simply my puran juta for the biggest enemy of Bangladesh cricket!

Nothing against Rabeed Imam but whats the point of having a Media manger when we dont get any update from BCB or Tiger cricket...
Tiger cricket web site is a flop..
Everything is good for nothing in Bangaldesh cricket....
And politicians should be banned from cricket unless they have first class cricket career...

What I understand, local journalists and other media bodies communicate with media manager to get the latest or inside about the team at the earliest. Otherwise there is no source for news for local media instead to wait for the official one. For example, if a player gets injured, local journalist can know the latest/updates about that player by contacting media manager and publish for us.
So, at least some work to be done by media manager and I am sure there is a whole range of role for a media manager to play other than posting it to tigercricket. But what about the Observer? What is role is? Does he submit any report about the tour? Has it been any help before? No answer to these questions. It is just a holiday for that politician with BCB's money.

No worries. Those going to the T20 WC can check up on the "observer" and observe his gotibidhi. He does anything BUT observe (hop into an island where BD is not playing, etc), alert the media with proof and do not let up on the pressure on BCB bosses.
Haven't spoken or heard from RI for a long time, not sure what he has been upto recently. Maybe now that he has a break, he'll be able to reply to my last email.

Having a media manager is now standard practice in international cricket. It is more important for Bangladesh because our players are not good in communication. Foreign journalists often criticise Bangladesh team without knowing the facts. Media manager can give them right information. Also hundreds of local media, who are unable to travel, depend on him for information. It is a right, not privilege. The BCB set a bad precedence by dropping media manager. So far I know it was a plan of DS Arefin Tutul. He is trying to make the directors, elected from districts and divisions, happy because they are his vote bank. It’s a shame.

Dont worry, they will be back in BD in a flash, unless they fly to England with the squad and have a good English holiday. Seems this Lotus guy is doing a lot of harm to BD cricket, too many politicians
spoiling the soup.

This bloody Lotus and his gang is destroying the BCB. How long the people of BD will keep tolerating injustice and corruption at every level? What the hell are we heading towards?

Seriously, in England the media is like ferocious, hungry tigers, they thrive on gossips, news etc. They look for every single possible details about a touring team, and specially after BD's performance against England and home, I am sure there would be many eager faces waiting BD's arrival.
And in such circumstances not having a media manager is equivalent to chopping your leg, deep frying it with 11 secret herbs and spices and then having it for dinner. Well done Mr. Sirajuddin, we are very proud of you.

if this wasnt such a big event, i bet they would have dropped some of the players from the squad they deem unnecessary and make room for some more of them...
