Giving the new ball to the spinners was a terrible decision by Gambhir.

Congrats to Somerset. These past 2 games have shown their the better team. They bat a lot more fluently throughout the lineup. This KKR team is weak in fielding and too much reliance on the superstars. More help is needed from the other players. The only local Indian that's showed up has been Bhatia. Anyways, this is good experience for Shakib and hope he continues to learn.

Wasn't Van der Merwe also the fielder who miraculously got Shakib out in the qualifier game and also batted really well? He seems to be a real thorn in KKR's side. Let's see how they face against the rest...especially Gayle and RCB *gulp*

KKR lost to the weakest team in the gorup, so KKR is the weakest team in the group now ....

according to cricinfo

Quote:
The Knight Riders have tried Jaidev Unadkat and L Balaji as Lee's support seamer, but neither looked convincing in their respective outings. With the spin depth in their side, they might be better off benching both, provided Jacques Kallis can complete a full spell. His solitary over was pounded for 16 runs in the previous game, which is an area of concern.
without a second specialist pacer ....... kkr will have lee plus kallis as pace bowling options, bhatia and RTD as slow medium options, shakib, abdullah and pathan as spinners ....

but if they drop both unadcut and balaji, who they bring in Goswamy ????, no other options .... haddin cant be included unless they drop an overseas player...... an if they bring in haddin looks like shakib is gonna be dropped as kallis, RTD looks settled, and they wont take the gamble of dropping LEE though he gives away runs he is the only one with real pace.

I dnt think they will bring haddin in the place of shakib.

Batting has not been a problem, they have scored 150+ runs in the last couple of matches, the problem is with their bowling when it comes to defend the target or restricting opposition. KKR has a depth in batting line up...even tendo & shakib don't get enough chances to bat. So, bringing in a genuine batsman in place of a spin all-rounder wont make any sense. The whole bowling dept looks shaky. The fast bowlers have repeatedly failed to provide early breakthrough.

Their management has mainly been the problem. It's absolutely absurd to have amateurs like Goswami, Bisla, and Tiwary batting ahead of international stars such as Pathan, Tendo, and Shakib. Just don't understand the logic to that at all. And please don't open with spinners again. That was just a disaster. If you don't trust Unadkat and Balaji that much then don't play them. What's the point of playing a pacer if he's not even being relied upon with the new ball? The biggest joke is not being able to play more then 4 overseas players yet Mumbai is playing 5. This limit to overseas players needs to be stripped. It will only do good for the game. You want youngsters to get exposure? Set up some damn A team tours and let them play there.

I don't think any team in T20 is weak. All you need is couple overs and game can change. IPL teams are not that strong just because they have well known player.

Now that Champions league has a qualifier I really hope they will let our NCL T20 champion have a shot. I'm sure we would get our a$$ kicked, but its the qualifier so it wouldn't hurt for them to give us a try. I'm sure our one team will get more support than any Caribbean or NZ team.

Gambir shouldn't bring spinners on within the first six overs, if you do then only one over from abdullah only cause the ball is coming onto the bat well in the first 6 overs, and with the field is up it will be easy for them to score of the spinners, bring the spinners on after the fielding restriction is over then on this pitch it gets harder to score of the the slower bowlers..
