Default Who should our new captain be?

well, its now official that Mushfiq is gonna resign from captaincy after the two T20s against Zimbabwe.

so the next time we play, we are gonna have a new captain. so who is gonna be. the discussion starts now.

will it be somebody new who has never been captain ..... Tamim or mahmudullah or Razzak
will somebody who had been captain previously will be recalled again ....... shakib, ashraful
will somebody like Nasir who is very new to team get like SA once appointed Graeme smith

or BCB will come with a surprise like appointing somebody like Shahriar nafees or Roqibul Hasan... ....

or is it time to have different captains ???

Shakib-ke captaincy deya thik na...abar politics shuru korbe..Mushfiq is the best overall captain for bd..hope board can retain him until Nasir/mominul/Anamul gets a bit matured.

Mushy has been a very successful Test captain,a solution would be to keep him as Test captain & make Sakib T20 & ODI captain

liked mushy. possibly to soon but nasir maybe. tamim no, ash no, mush resigned, shakib not back to his best yet after injury and didn't do as good when he was captain so no, riyad can barely hold his place so no, all of the bowlers doing well atm but newish to the team so no (other than razzak in shorter formats).

nasir hossain is currently 21 years 160 days

NB: this list was created when Graeme Smith was appointed captain for SA in 2003. thats why shakib and mushfiw or ashrafuls's name is missing in the top 10 as all of them became captain within the top 10 range

I have not been happy with Mushfiqur's strategy and tactics, but he has been a good leader. He might have been more successful if he had a good VC to help him with those. I think BCB should try different captains in different formats. I have no idea how good a captain Nasir will make or whether he can handle the pressure. From past experience, the only captain I like from the current crop is Ash, but he is a shoe in only in the T20. So, make him the T20 captain. Perhaps, Nasir can be the test captain. How about Lala for the ODI?

we need 3 different captains.

Test: Shakib
ODI: Riyad/Razzak
T20: Ash/Razzak

But I think Riyad will be appointed for all formats.

Riyad's only "good" format is ODI. He cannot captain all 3!

Those who will/have suggested Riyad, I'm greasing you off right now through my laptop screen. I'm sorry, little glimpses of 'class' here and there won't do it.

Mushy will have to remain. He MUST! He's so dedicated all the time yelling and screaming to ensure everyone's on their feet ready to go. Can you guys imagine Riyad as captain? A guy who's facial expression makes it look like he's being forced to play, he doesn't want to be there.

There is simply no option but MUSHY!

Tamim these days can't score runs, he's only there because we supposedly have no one better.

Nasir is too young.

Shakib-been there done that.

Razzaq? err NO! That 50 doesn't make him an option for captaincy.

No one other than Mushy would fit for captaincy.
Shakib seems to have temper
Nasir is skillful but awarding him captaincy is too early
TIK has temper
So, ask Mushy to reconsider

I think he should reconsider and continue to captain. This decision is a knee-jerk reaction to the series defeat. Previous 3-4 good series shouldn't be forgotten because of this loss. Very disappointing performance though.

I'm just wondering, are there other factors that we don't know of? Is Mushy unsatisfied with something? Generally, it takes quite a lot of time to react in such a way even after a loss.

I haven't seen anyone step down this fast right after the match. Pre-meditated by any means? Lots of questions arise.

Shakib. Easy. Eaaaaaaasy.

He was great to begin with, got sacked due to attitude. And who wouldn't clash heads with the lame BCB?
