Strategy Room for the 3rd ODI. Strategize please.
Very disappointed at this wash out. Even if there is no scope for winning the series now, at least a victory in the 3rd ODI will let SL know, that it's trouble for them every time they play us from now on.
Okay,let's talk selection.
Don't know about y'all , but I was mighty impressed with Zia's bowling today. In spite of the strong winds, he bowled fine.
But I didn't see a different Rubel today, I saw the same one that was raped by Dilshan and Perrera.
Can Rubel change? Yes,on a different wicket maybe. But this one? Doesn't seem like it. So is it too late to replace him with Mosharraf Hossain? Oh, and btw, Mosharraf is known for darting them in using his height, maintains a fantastic line and length as I remember him from his Dhaka Warrior days.
Our team's core competency is spinners after all, so what's the harm?
And should Shamsur Rahman replace Ash for the next ODI? We are finding hot forms in our newest selections( Anamul in the WI series, Mominul in the SL series, and soon they will both click together). So who's to say Shamsur won't be the next consistent one? Much better than what y'all call an Eid innings, ain't?
Discuss please.

Is the extra batsmen worth it? Why not play Mosharraf Hossain? Battings not the problem, its bowling. In todays lineup we had three specialist bowlers, and we all know often guys like Rubel dont count-as they get hammered and dont complete the 10 over quota. So we are practically stuck with two genuine bowlers in Gazi and Razzak.

That's what I proposed. Rubel out, Mosharraf in.

I have always said that you should play your strengths, regardless of the condition or what purists believe is 'right'. The truth is, the 5 best bowlers in the country are spinners, so pack the team with spinners. I can think of at least 4 better bowlers than Rubel, Shahadat or Abul. No point picking a pacer just for the sake of it, Zia can do the job of a solitary pacer.
And as for batting goes, I think Anamul needs to be tried at no.4/5. He still lacks confidence to play his natural game against quality new ball attacks. Push Sir Sir up to open and see how he does. Might be worth the gamble.

Okay,so just to be clear, you are not in favor of replacing Ash with Shamsur?

I agree with both suggestions by Roey Haque! Mosharraf and Shamsur in for Rubel and Ash.
Rubel might get better, but right now, he is a huge liability. We need to get Dilshan and Sanga quickly, but Abul and Rubel's contributions has been to get them settled.

Yes. Well, Rubel's contributions has been to get him more experience. The still wicket less Abul? Not so sure. Might be time for a long lay off from the team. In a perfect world that is.

That is a fine piece of strategy. It should be in talks immediately. Hell, why not be revolutionary and squeeze in another day to make up for this cancelled ODI as well? I'm serious! In business, all I'm studying is how to innovate, cater to the situation etc. These things should be done to improve ICC's cricketing world.

I have not been impressed with Abul at all. He never has a plan and cannot bowl a tight spell. I would love to be proven wrong, but I don't see him improve soon.

I think Ash is for tactical strategy for the opposition, opposition party will always be on their toes that ash is playing and any day thukku the prior night of the match they will be busy searching for the new moon of the month of "shawal", so that they pass sleepless night and under perform the next day. And if they somehow discovers the new moon to blossom in the midst of the sky between the twinkle stars then there is no hope in the next match. better they would sit down and watch the match between bd and aus in cardiff to get acquainted of the future environment.
Ok jokes apart i think it will be unfair except rubel to change the team composition as the 2nd match is abandoned. if the track assist seamers then we should replace another pacer for rubel, with abul injured only hope is..... came long way from dhaka intl airport after cancelling 2-3 shooting contracts.

It's better to have a quality spinner like Mosharraf in place of brainless expensive Rubel !! We need pacer like Zia who maintains good line and length , he was impressive against WI too. In future we need Taskin and Farhad Reza as a bowler in ODI .

change batting order
I once again ask to experiment with batting order, send bijoy at middle order, try zia and omi at opening, momin at 1st down, then shams-mushfiq-ash, reserve nasir for late middle order.replacebrrainless rubel with mosharrah.

How about giving tapash another chance. He did well in BPL.
Rubel or Shahadat didnt - and they still get selected.
All the players that did well in BPL should be given a chance including Shamshur Rahman insh Allah
