Nafis Iqbal will replace which player in the ODI team?
Nafis Iqbal 108 not out against England (until now)
So who will he replace to play for Bangladesh National Team in One Day matches?
Habibul Bashar will drop down at 3 or 4, Rajin will play at 3 or 4, Kapali will play at 5 (or 4 - whatever), Mushfique 6, Pilot 7, Sujon 8, Rafique 9, Mashrafee 10, Tapash 11. And Hannan will open with Nafis.
In my assumption above, Tushar Imran will be out of the final eleven. What do you say?

Why the ODI team?
Test team ki dosh korlo? We need to find a batsman for the Test team first before we think about the ODI team. I think Nafees has made a strong case for inclusion.

In today's Prothom Alo, I've read that one or two players of the either the BCB XI or the Bangladesh 'A' team could get into the one day squad, but not the test squad. They have also said that Mushfique could get into the test squad - which seemed surprising to me, but given that we need a one day opener for our one day team, and Nafis being a specialist opener, so his chances of getting into the one day team is more than the test team.
In another thread, I read that Nafis could open in tests and Golla can drop down the order?
Nafis can also play at number 6 in test cricket - he will have to do the same job at number 6 in test matches - facing the new ball, given that our top 5 players can survive the first 80 overs.

Our top five hardly survive for 80 overs. If he plays in the Tests, he is better off opening the innings and Golla dropping down.

He hasn't proved himself in one day matches... he has done this in a match similar to a test match. Mind you, as he scored 14 4s and a 6 in his innings at a strike rate of 70+ he should also be given a go for the ODIs.

Isn't Nafis going to Pakistan ? If that's the case he will miss both tests and ODIs

Nafis will be back before the ODI series begins (final is on 6th).
He can play the ODI series if selected.

I think gullu should be dropped. Because, as far I remember, he scored only one century in Pakistan, and I don't think he scored any fifties. So, Nafis should come in his place.
Also I think that Aftab Ahmed can come into the place of Khaled Mahmud the captain.

I thought that was a brave statement in the context of the current situation. I have also been thinking about this, i.e hypothetically, what are the options for a BD team without Bashar. The way things stand his strength in batting is overwhelming but at some point we must think beyond and imagine a BD ODI and a test team. I hope that day is'nt far, all the other test teams are doing that. Aman, perhaps you could elaborate. What were your thoughts when you said that?

it\'s a tough choice to select now
Nafis did excellent, aftab impressive in first match, enamul jr. bowled good...arafat sunny and rubel showed how tail order can contribute....now we will see lots of players but only 11 in the main team!!!
It's kinda hard to give opinion about choosing a batsman right way from one match performance. But as performance counts. Nafis and aftab can play but then who will be droped from ODI or even test....I guess now we can take 6 specialist batsman and rest is bowlers may be one or two allrounder...but I am indeed in confusion now whom to choose and whome to omit.
