a russian novel ... the plot flirts with remote possibilities before coming to the inevitably tragic conclusion.

a russian novel ... the plot peels away slowly to reveal the inevitably tragic conclusion, while also flirting with unlikely possibilities to the contrary.

seriously, that is the reason why chanderpaul is never called a graet batsman, if it'd be lara, i don't think this would be the case

there's something wickedly HaBa-esque about vaughan that will never meet the eye.

Collymore was quite unlucky as Bell made an amazing catch... praise to West Indies for showing a great fight... if they keep on playing like this better results will come!
(let us not forget Sarwan was missing!)

they need lawson, powell, taylor and fidel to bowl together ... a genuine spinner, not another nagamootoo, who can also bat well won't hurt either.

Dave Mohammed is a spinner that can bat... (he averages 32 in Test cricket!) but he's never given too many chances.
Sammy has had a great debut so he's one to rely on for the future. Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul and Ramdin are good batsmen... now they have many promising young pacers... it's time that 2/3 of them finally confirm their talent!

I wouldn't count my chickens just yet. They've shown this kind of fight in the past only to fold cheaply in the next matches.
