Default Is BCB taking Bangladesh Cricket down the gutter?

Is BCB taking Bangladesh Cricket down the gutter? Here are a few tell-tell signs that are really concerning me:

1. BCB is unable to find a competent coach. It’s been almost 6 months – still no progress. We keep hearing this name and that name. They keep dropping big name coaches with zero interest in leaving franchise leagues and coach BD. This is sheer incompetency of BCB.
2. The assignment of Khaled Mahmud as a technical director. His media outburst and pathetic performance as a coach.
a. Selecting 5 uncapped players and subsequently dropping them.
3. Why is the contract list cut down to 10? How many board of directors do we have again?
4. What happened in the domestic league? Why was Abahoni given priority in every expect during the league?
5. Pitch sanctions against Mirpur and Chittagong.
6. Lack of decision surrounding Afg series. BCB is all over the place. Here are some of the bits and pieces that came to news media:
a. Not sure if we will send the senior players. Senior players will be rested. What rest man! They did not play any international cricket since Nidhas trophy.
b. We don’t like the venue they picked in India. We want to play in Bengaluru or Kolkata. What.. would you rather play in Kabul?
c. We don’t want to play ODI series. We will play T20 series instead in preparation of WC T20! When is T20 WC again? Come on man... Afgs are much better T20 team than us. Last thing we need is thrashing by Afg team.

I am sure there are more things that are happening behind the scene or I did not follow. We cannot go down the same path as Zim or Kenya cricket board. I have been really worried with all these development and figured I should share it somewhere. Who knows... someone from BCB may see this and take some action before its too late.

Out of curiosity, which venue is this that is not to the BCB's liking?

In BD, when something becomes successful and a money-making machine, corruption comes into effect and then things go downhill from there.
BCB is corrupt. Full stop.

BCB is mad, where ever they play Afg vs BD in India the stadium will be empty, BCB thinks using big stadiums like kolkata or bangaluru makes any sense? BCCI should say go play in kabul ajaira

Afghanistan's home ground is in India.

It's called the Greater Noida Cricket Stadium ( I'll have to confirm that this is indeed the name).

It is. Noida is a satellite city of Delhi, so if glamour is what the BCB is after seeing that they ditched Dehradun for the bigger metropolises of Mumbai and Kolkata, then what is wrong with Delhi?

BCB was saying ease of travel since the WI series is afterwards. But I think the WI series is still 2 weeks or more after the AFG one.

Kolkata or Bangalore would be eaier to travel in and out of if the BD team was going directly to the Caribbean. Dehradun is going to be another 3 hour bus ride (or more) from the DEL airport.

Poor team selection of players by the BCB is mainly killing our cricket. Resurrection of dead players like Shaiful Islam and Nasir instead of trying to bring in new players is a shocker at the current juncture we are in.

I think it’s not entirely BCB fault of not fixing someone as head coach as there is no one good around.

Allowing the players to mutiny against the coach is also not ideal.

You know, I know, without Shakib there is no BD team. He is playing IPL and will not join the team (hence the rest, HHS).

BCB is not taking BD cricket down. Come on!!! Abahani should start producing umpires for all of their own matches. Go sky Blue!!!!!!! God created the earth and then Abahani. Ordained. More power to BCB. HHS.

I want a proper CEO for our board. The current one seem too tame and always seem to be outshined by Mr. Papon.

Whoever is/will be the BCB CEO, always would be outshined by Mr. Papon /BCB Boss IMO.

Quote:

Sigghh... seems like he is holding a grudge against Mashrafe for refusing to come back from T20 retirement. His utter lack of cricketing knowledge... Mash will only bowl 2-3 overs? He is our ODI captain and regularly bowling 10 overs. This guy....
