43.5 Johnson to Rajin Saleh, OUT: gone! Johnson strikes! short of a good length delivery very close to the off stump, no real width for the cut shot but Saleh can't resist and goes for the cut, ball takes the edge and goes straight to the keeper.
---
18 runs to aviod follow on...can we do it?
Looks increasingly unlikely.

47.2 Johnson to Mushfiqur Rahman, no run, drifting down the leg side,
Rahman tires to turn it away but misses, ball hits the thigh pad
and goes behind, keeper moves across and collects, huge appeal for
caught behind turned down by Asoka de Silva
Whats up with that?

What is our captain trying to prove!
48.4 Hoggard to Khaled Mahmud, no run, short rising delivery on the
middle and off stump line, Mahmud goes for the pull and gets
beaten, another dangerous shot!
48.3 Hoggard to Khaled Mahmud, no run, fuller length delivery on the
middle and off, played across the line to the mid wicket region,
dangerous shot that!

There he goes again... He needs 10 runs in the last over to win it.
48.5 Hoggard to Khaled Mahmud, FOUR, shot! finally a decent shot,
pitched up on the middle and off, driven down the track to the
long on boundary, timing was spot on

middle and off stump line, Mahmud goes for the pull and gets
beaten, another dangerous shot!

Is Mahmud trying to make sure he is not dropped from the one day squad?

He does it again
51.3 Johnson to Khaled Mahmud, FOUR, short delivery on the middle and
off, Mahmid pulls even with the two men out in the deep, gets it
right and the ball bisects the fielders in the deep

sure, he saved the follow on with a blitzkrieg 15. good man. but he got desperately thirsty and couldn't wait for drinks to get out.
when sujon looks in the mirror, what does he see?
btw how did rajin get out so early?

Follow-on saved!
Atleast we will make them bat again! Now if we can see some Rafiq masterclass before the last clutter of wickets, I'll be happy.

Semms Rafiq has more sense than our entire top order sans Mushfiqur
53.5 Johnson to Mohammad Rafique, no run, short delivery down the leg
side, no shot offered, Read moves across quickly and collects it
53.4 Johnson to Mohammad Rafique, no run, outside the off stump,
defended straight to Giles at gully
53.3 Johnson to Mohammad Rafique, no run, good length delivery on the
middle and off, Rafiue moves across and defends it to the point
region
53.2 Johnson to Mohammad Rafique, no run, outside the off stump, left
alone

Rafiq, Rajin 's out will disappoint you too. He was gone trying to cut a delivery that was too close to his body. Before that he edged a Hoggard delivery through slips.

Mushfiq should keep strike
if you remember on the 5th day of the first test, mushfiq just watched as wickets tumbled around him. Do you think he learnt anything, and could keep the strike more aggressively as he is set and the new players aren't?

I don't think Mushfique has that much ability to keep the strike without taking undue risk! But he proved most of us wrong before! Hope he will do it again!Anyway Rafiq's test batting average is higher than our captain!

Freaking edges, most of our batsmen got out somewhat in a similar manner...EDGES...errr... Screw this, I'm going to sleep.
Musfiq gone now...
Code:
56.1 Saggers to Mushfiqur Rahman, OUT: first test wicket! cracking
delivery outside the off stump, Rahman had to play at it and ends
up with a faint edge to the keeper, Saggers celebrates

every run counts - I don't know at what point the players "give up" in their heads. The wicket is certainly helping the seamers but these tail enders have scored some runs before, they can do it again. They would rather be facing a 125 run england lead than a 175 run england lead.
i was hoping for BD to bat all day, thought realistically it would be tea but now even lunch looks unlikely. there, mushfiq gone to a good ball.
whose idea was it to prepare a seamer's wicket and then have 4 spinners on the team? not sure if this test proves anything but the fact that we can't play pace.
