As it stands now, leading up to world cup, we have two matches agasint UAE (who may potentially win a place in Group 2, along with us, in WC), four matches in NZ (two matches each against Pak and NZ), potentially a place in the Tri-nation final, and then two warm up matches against AFG and SA - a total of 8-9 matches building up to WC. There should be no excuse about prep for the WC!

Ai beta ki typer captain. Leaves national team duty to play in a franchise t20 match. Your team got their arse handed to them in the first round of Asia Cup and instead of trying to figure out what will work and what won't work for the wc, Mr I am the best went to play franchise cricket ...

Rumor is that this may be the last chance for Soumya, to swap a place in WC squad. Soumya-Sabbir may open (Miraz is being overlooked as Sriram is still not convinced on his skills against pacers. Plus, Sriram wants to try a left-right combo). So, possible XI -

Soumya
Sabbir
Litton (playing at 3 in Shakib's absence, but likely to be bumped down to 4 from the NZ series)
Afif
Yasir
Sohan
Mosaddek
Saifuddin
Taskin/Ebadot
Nasum
Mustafiz

Saifuddin maybe under scrutiny this tour as well. Once Shakib returns, it will be possible to go with 8 batters+3 genuine pacers (each who can bowl 140+ KPH) from NZ series. So, Saifuddin may have to prove his worth with both bat and ball this tour.

Matches will start 8PM BDT next Sunday and Tuesday.

We have a very limited number of quality T20I players, not really much Shakib can do here. Instead of him showing up to bully UAE, this gives Sujon-Sriram opportunities to see what other players have to offer.

Shakib is actually struggling with his own T20 form, which was apparent in last IPL. Playing in CPL, imo, is better for him to sort out his own issues (especially batting), before he joins the team in NZ.

In my humble opinion this Sriram idiot is killing Liton's form. He was doing excellent opening and should remain there

Yasir Ali doesn’t seem like a sound player either and looks really fat to play international cricket

Nasum? He should only be used in Bangladesh. This guy has absolutely no control and loves bowling short. He needs the wickets to be a spinning minefield. Miraz used to be the same but has since improved but only slightly

Really don’t understand this obsession playing Yasir Ali. The guy is unfit just like Akram Khan was . These days you can’t have med bhuris in the team for so called competitive ones

Saifuddin doesn’t look like he is intelligent and his celebrations are quite childish

This was an embarrassing win. Poor batting at the start and sub par fielding.

Selection committee needs to be kicked on the backside selecting fatty Yasi Ali and gadha Nasum.
