What\'s your new year\'s resolution?
Well my wife says she wants to become a mum.
And my new year?s resolution is to become a dad.

I will add that practice makes perfect. Seriously - if you and your wife are over 30, be prepared for NOT getting an instantaneous conception.
Good luck. My son turned 1 month or so ago - he's been an absolute blessing every way
BTW My new year's resolution is to play more cricket this year and actually finish a song or two.

I thought this was a G-rated forum......
hence I will withheld my usual "reflex" comment (in fear of a beating from Razab - he vowed to bang my head with his guitar), and say
"Good Luck"
I will let you know my resolution the 31st!! The anticipation kills you doesn't it.....

whats the point in making promises everyone knows they won't be able to keep?
does it make ppl feel that good about themselves to break their word?

Well it's not always possible to keep them but no one is forcing you to promise the impossible.. Try hard and you shall succeed!

Thats the best part of making promises: the euphoria feeling of being unrestricted once you break it.

Has anyone thought of adopting a child from Bangladesh? Think about it.

One of my best friends did that and they're getting ready to adopt a second child from Bangladesh. thry are extremely happy with their descision and highly recommend it.
I told my wife when we got married if we couldn't have a child of our own then we'll adopt and she agreed. But got lucky on the first try.
Anyway, its a great idea. I might look into it once my kid is a little older.

Not directed at you. How could I spoil your day? I am sorry if I felt it was directed at you Everyone has different needs and wishes but perhaps someone will be encouraged to extend their family this way.

It's actually an issue that needs to be talked about on its own. I wondered why all those childless couples ( especially bangali) that i have met did not see it as a viable and morally right option. I guess it comes down to ingrained predjudices and social views (unhealthy) that still lingers. Anyway, my pressumptions may be outdated here, so correct me if I am wrong.
Similarly, I also wonder why the overwhelming number of Korean kids adopted by Americans?
