Good way to start the official tour.. Certainly the revelation is, the experienced ones are needed, Aftab, Shahrier, Mashrafee, Sakib scored.. while Nazmus Sadat, Nadif, Mushfiq didnt surprise us. Bad news for Forhad Reza, especially since he is not getting runs nor much wickets lately.

This Twenty-20 game will bring lot of success for BD in near future. Actually our batsmen even play this format of cricket in test matches.

Obviously your focus was on the 2nd parameter than the primary... I accept the opn bracket confusion.
There is a difference. We played a basically our 2nd/3rd string team against Zim. Had this been a 50 over game, we probably wouldnt have lost 10 wickets and scored 280+ runs. The question really is, if we are to prepare of world cup, we have to start raise the bar above 280 and this tour will reveal wether we can score big runs or not. This match BD scored 8 plus RR... in the ODIs, the target should be to score 6 plus to avoid the possibility of defeat. Gone are those days where 200 is a respectable score ( barring pitches of India)

Don't see how that can happen. Reza is a specialist batsman who should be considered a part time bowler, Tapash is a specialist bowler who can be considered a good late order batsman- two very different kind. Both need to concentrate on their specialities to stay/come into the national team.

Good start of the series by BD. Surely will make them more confident and put pressure on the ZIM team for the coming ODI sereis.

Zimbabwe captain Prosper Utseya, Bangladesh skipper Shahriar Nafees Ahmed and man of the match Mashrafee Bin Mortaza spoke about their feelings on Tuesday’s Twenty20 match after Bangladesh’s 43-run victory at Khulna:
Prosper Utseya
(Whether they thought that 166 was chasable)
A total of 160 is a good score and to chase that one of the top four batsmen need to bat through
(The difference between the two sides)
I think the difference was that these guys are pretty used to their conditions, they played straighter while we went across.
(On why he chose to field first)
We needed to see and test ourselves because have not played a Twenty20 match. But in a longer version 50 overs game we would like to bat first because chasing is always pressure.
(On the Bangladeshi left-arm spinners)
They look like they have improved more from the last time we played them.
Shahriar Nafees
(On the win)
I think we have started our battle against Zimbabwe in the right manner, with a convincing win. I would like to believe that this victory has given us confidence that we can do something really good in the ODI series.
(How it felt to captain the side)
I received 100 percent cooperation from my teammates in the field and they should be proud with their contribution. It was a team effort and not a captain’s or an individual’s match. I am very happy for that.
(On the factors that gave Bangladesh the edge)
If I had won the toss we would’ve batted also. The difference was that we batted better than Zimbabwe and when we bowled we could put pressure on them. Everyone contributed at some point and the late order batting of Mashrafee deserves special mention.
(The turning point in the match)
I think the dismissal of (Hamilton) Masakadza. From that point we were always confident that we would win.
(On captaining in a Twenty20 match)
Before today’s game we had to do a bit of homework regarding who to bring in while bowling and who would be bowling during a specific situation. The batting order was also discussed. I did not have to take any serious decision in the field. We just applied our plans smartly on the field.
(The future of Twenty20 in Bangladesh)
Every type of cricket is popular in Bangladesh so I don’t see any reason why Twenty20 should be any different.
Mashrafee Bin Mortaza
(Which part he enjoyed most in the match)
I wanted to bowl at the death. Just bowled one over towards the end but there were no major batsmen at the crease then. I guess I enjoyed the batting more today.
(Replying to the question whether international cricket had everything stacked against the bowlers these days)
Test matches are still there!

SN looks like a better talker.

Bro, this is not the first time for us. All of our players are familiar with this. Did Aftab play anything different than his usual game? I don't think so.
Our cricketes always play twenty20 game. ICC calls our games test and ODI. That is ICC problem.
We have been playing twenty20 game since we are given test status (except JO,Pilot; who always play test even when ICC calls the game ODI).
