Shahriar Nafees is in!
http://www.prothom-alo.com/detail/da...13/news/138194
Eng Version: http://livecricketupdate.net/nafees-...lands-preview/
After years of persistence and shameless stubbornness , Allah has finally answered my prayers, Shahriar Nafees is IN for the next match! Now all those bans I received for him, all those tears I shed, all those nights spent posting for his support, all worth it! Im so happy right now it's indescribable! And scared at the same time too whether this is true or not.
The link was first shared by firstlane, for which I sincerely thank him, it made my day...actually it made my year!

Why do we forget the fact that he hasnt played well at all for the since the last world cup. He only played well against minnows and looked really and I mean really out of his depth against quality pace bowling. He had literally 1 or 2 good innings but for me he hasnt really performed since 2006 and that too was against Zimbabwe. And he betrayed the team when we needed him most by leaving for the ICL. For me, the most he can expect is a sub role for when the current openers are injured or rested.

Accordin to PA report, SN will replace Rokibul and Shuvo will replace Naeem.
I dont like the second change. So far, Naeem is our best bowler.

Abirz hope your wait will be fruitful...SN has to perform especially now BD side is really competative...look at how Naeem might get dropped despite bowling so good but Riad just stood up last game otherwise he could have been axed....so SN really need to justify his positions.

Great to see common sense prevailing over bizarre nepotism at long last! Abir at his worst is far better than Saleh 2.0 at his best. Why? Basic ability to sight the ball before it hits the bat!
Ebar ijjot rakhish Abir! Stay loose, stay focused, don't go poking about, and MAUL THE ORANGE!

Shahriar Nafees is a very average player. I don't understand the fascination with this glofied minnow basher. His inclusion won't make an iota of a difference to this team in the long run. After the world cup, we probably should blood new players to the squad, such as Shubagoto, Asif, Shabbir, Nasir, etc.
Look at Shariar's record, what makes you think, all of a sudden, he is going to improve dramatically?

Sohel bhai, I respect your thoughts generally, but why do you think the selectors are showing nepotism? Which player is related to whom in the management? IMO, constant chopping and changing is not the way to go. Hopefully after the world cup, we will retain the core group, and add 3 - 4 players from the academy and A team.

may be he is avg but what other choice we have left...are they ( Shubagoto, Asif, Shabbir, Nasir, etc. ) ready to take challenge in intl level...why BCB does not arrange A team manages any more I don't know...we are not successful at all creating and retaining players and their forms..also I have no answers why players lose their forms after playing few years (e.g. SN lost his forms, we all know about Ash and now we see Rok and Musfiq). Forms are temporary but why the form lose is permanent and at the same time for BD players?

Shahariar Nafis certainly deserves to get in instead of Rakibul. However, I hope team management makes sure that they send Rakibul as a substitute of Nafis during our fielding session.
Also, I do not think replacing Naeem with Suvho is a good idea. Naeem may have failed with bat in the last game, but he did bowl well. I hope BCB realizes that before its too late.

Theres no point seeing his record unless you compare it to other bd batsmen, you can only compare and choose from what is available to you. Make a table like this for every player in the team and then compare and see whether he deserves a spot or not
This "very average player"s record is better than perhaps even Tamim, he is one of our most experienced batsmen, he's only 25, has lots to offer, I agree with you we should have new players, but they should be properly developed before going into the national team and we need a gd mix of experience and young blood which Shahriar Nafees brings
I cant guarantee it that he will improve drastically, but he certainly deserves a go, 1 match atleast, let's see how it goes
