Is Shakib's recent run drought a concerning factor?
Yes? No? It doesn't matter because he is taking wickets? He should try to be a specialist like Kumbel and Murali and Warne? Should he be given leash or reigned more to focus on batting?

In my opinion, he has a mental issue with T20 batting for some reason. Look at his only first class match, he scored 54 in his only outing. I think he needs to get set, and then he will become dangerous. He is no Tamim (I'm going to stop comparing BD players to other country players, well, I'll try ). He can't walk in and begin hitting boundaries. He needs to rotate the strike first, and then can he look for the ropes.
He should focus on his batting, as he is, and always will be classifies as a genuine all rounder. This means he has to perform with both Bat + ball. But when his bowling is good, and he is a teams best bowler, then you can't really complain, knowing the potential he has to destroy a team with his blade. I think that Vettori is someone Shakib should try (not imitate), but follow an example of. But I would take 4/31 and 5 runs any day.

it only concerns the T20 batting otherwise I have full faith in his ODI /TEst batting.

but almost all BD players take T20 as slog and through their wickets away which is why our batting is still so vulnerable in this format.

Shakib's recent run drought is a serious concern for Bangladesh. He is one of our pillars in batting. We need his batting contribution as equally as his bowling. He can have a free go playing in KKR or Worc where there are many genuine batsmen but this is not the case with Bangladesh team.
Moreover, we have more SLAs than any other clubs/national teams. Many of them can make up his poor bowling performance in a match but no other can make up his poor batting performance. We have limited resources when it comes to batting.
Another important factor is his way of getting out. If he plays sensibly then i wont be bothered much about his run drought but he is getting out in a reckless manner which is bit worrying. Now, who says, its T20 and we should not be bothered about his batting, I don't agree with them. Regardless of formation of game, when a batsman does not get runs and gets out poorly, it will certainly have a negative effect on his other game as well.

Shakib's T20 batting has never been stellar. his bowling is fine, so he will come back strong in his batting when it counts. enough said.

Not sure just how much of a slump he's in considering he has just been playing T20 cricket with all of the seriousness that comes with. That being said, a professional player should stay focused take every game he plays just as seriously.
I have no doubt he'll get out of the slump sooner than many expect him to. Just wait until he starts playing what he considers "serious" cricket, especially for his country.

I know its a bit of concern....but come on guys....give him some break...he is not superman
Everyone goes through some rough period in their career while Sakib is always contributing either in bowling or in batting for last 2 years....so what if he hasnt scored many runs in some T20..I am sure he will regain his batting form very soon
Keep belief in Sakib,Keep belief in Bangladesh.....

1. Shakib kintu domestic cricket e batting e khub baaje performance dey. Even here in Bd, domestic cricket e he does not perform up to the mark.
2. Shakib is going through a drought and its true. But he will come back strong.
Shakib actually never takes domestic cricket as seriously as intl cricket.

I don't understand why people are being so hyper about his batting form. I feel some people really need to take a deep breath and relax. You guys have to realize that T20 batting is not his strong suit and is the reason why he's struggling. Take in to account that he's also not the best batsman in English conditions as well. Once the Zimbabwe series comes around, we'll all forget about this"worried batting form."

Echo that. He will step up as usual when he plays for his country.

His batting off form isn't only in English conditon, he couldn't run in IPL as well. But we hope he will come back soon in runs.
