I will start it off. Not necessarily I read them all but also in my wishlist.

1. The Glass Bead Game

Hey thanks for the input.

I have C&P on my shelf. I just don't like abstract discourse. More of a Dumas guy, artistry of Orwell in Burmese Days, House of Leaves slash Joyce stream-of-consciousness-break-every-rule-you-can-with some-dollop-of-Pynchon type.

Didn't post Lord of the Flies and Brave New World in the list as didn't want to hog it. Both I was forced to read in school -along Animal Farm- and hated them. Will give them a fair shot..esp. the first one now.

Gotta check out 7-9.

Anyway it wasn't meant to be my personal list rather collective collection.

Loved Brothers Karamazov actually.

Carry on fellas. (Sorry for the commentary.)

13. Absolutely. Why should it be classic only?

In that case, I guess:

14. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
15. How To Win Friends and Influence People - Dale Carnegie didn't read it though...if you can't tell!
16. Long Walk to Freedom (probably boring but still significant for historical reasons)

More nonfiction

17. Zen and the Art of Archery - Herrigel (pith but packs a punch)
18. Mathematics and Imagination - the book that took me to force mathematics in a new light

How?

How exactly do you think mods will merge completely different threads of different flavor?

21. Harry Potter/LOTR saga - again although it is beneath me to read these, but the point being one must be cognizant of vox populi

I think we need to go back to connecting with nature, forest therapy with a crisp, yellow book on our laps.

My general sentiment being: If I can get the gist of an entire 1000 page fiction in one single scroll of Gutenberg, then why bother?

Which actually makes me NOT well read, as you can tell.
