Default Prothom Alo news on Mashrafe

After reading the article ( http://www.prothom-alo.net/2002-10-17/17cat9.html ) I am deeply sad and depressed. If Mashrafe can't play in the world cup then that just ruins everything!!!!!

I just wish he gets fit.

Default *sigh*

This doesn't make any sense. We didn't have much to begin with and whatever we had has been cut short. GRRRRRRR

It still says that there is a distant possibility and I will take that.

By the way, I may be mistaken but isn't this why teams have physios ? To advice the players and keep a close eye on them ? Is it just me or does something not seem right ? We are specnding a lot of money bringing in the physios, aren't we ?

Part time physio John Gloster is as* at best. And why is he part time? Too good to stay with BD whole year? Other guy (I can't imagine any reason why BCB would keep him) Gavin Benjafield knows nothing.

Both of them are good for nothing.

Default Disgrace

This is an outrage - what does he have ? Torn muscles ? Torn ligaments ? Broken bones ? Its quite clear that no one knows what they're talking about, and its quite clear that no one in BD knows what needs to be done to fix it. He's sat out about a year now ? And for what - a torn muscle ??

What a *u*k*ng joke !!

The whole report is dramatized, beginning with the lavish praise on the bowling abilities of Tareq and Sharif - typical bull that we have come to expect from Bengali new reporters. And this is what gives me hope - the fact that everything is grossly exaggerated.

Anyway, assuming for a second that everything is accurate, the whole incident suggests more like the condition of a motor vehicle victim's situation. Why is it that these reporters never bother to get the Indian doctor's synopsis (who treated MASRI).

I've sat down and thought, and then deliberately tried to injure myself with a skipping rope, and the worst possible way I thought I could injure myself is through a torn ligament (while skipping). And even with a badly treated case of torn ligament, I KNOW FOR SURE THAT U NEED ABOUT 9 months max for full recuperation. But what the funniest thing is that the report goes to "suggest" (yes, like now the writer is a medic expert) that it was because of the additional pressure exerted on the other leg while recovering, that MASRI is incapable of using it.

What BULL, these writers are very good at dreaming up comments, and erroneous ones for that matter.

Like others in BD have so often done in the past, it is now the cricket board's turn to totally humiliate (AGAIN) the image of the Bengali being.

I agree with Pundit. Reporter probably is just getting a bit carried away. I sincerely hope Mashrafe gets back into the team for World Cup. Before I heard he has recovered completely and BCB sent him to MRF pace foundation for few weeks. I guess thats not true.

Anyway, lets hope for the best.

Given that Mashrafee is the brightest bowling prospect we have, why doesn't BCB just spend some money and send him to Australia or something where they can make him better. Sitting around in BD and under the supervision of BD doctors is probably making his problems worse. Our doctors don't know what the hell to do. We have no specialist doctors that deal with sporting injuries like other countries do. Handle is right, it is outrageous that we are letting this guy rot like this. Many bowlers have had early career injuries, and some like Lillee's or Imran Khan's back problems were much worse than Mashrafees. But I have never heard of anyone just lying around for 9 months without any reported improvements. Can someone appeal to BCB to get this chap looked at by someone who knows something about these types of injuries.

Default Please write to Dailystarnews.

Fahmida and others in the board - please take this opportunity to write to Dailystar and press our concern about Masri's fitness as well as demanding some urgency on behalf of BCB and the sports ministry to get on the phones with Australia and have Masri sent to their best ficilities. We need to do this thinking that we might get 10+ years of service from this guy and also I can't help but feel that somehow the BCb and fans are to blame for overworking the poor guy.
