Too bad news. If india manages to cross 300 mark then our batsmen won't be able to chase it. So the pitch must have something for the bowlers too.

Dumb decision, I must say. Bowlers are our main strength, they should have been given advantage of home pitches, not batsmen who sucks in all conditions.
Without Gangu and Tendu, India is coming with a not so robust top order, our pacers had a good chance to rattle them from early on if given sporting wickets. Now, if Mash and Rasel can't manage to give us early break through, Bashar wil automatically go into defensive mode and India will go on to make big scores.

After the practice match it seems more of a bowling pitch in mirpur.

True, looks like even the groundsmen failed :p The report from Cric BD states that the ball kept low at times in the second innings of play...

Terrible pitch dead with the unbearable heat + টিমে ঢোকার জন্য টিকে থাকার ঠ্যালা = terrible batting... Tamim, Mash played their natural game and did well... not a very good yardstick to gauge possible performance against India in my opinion...

Indeed not good for us. Our strategy should be playing in bowling friendly wicket where both teams batsman struggle. We have more chances in making a game from bowling friendly wickets than batting friendly.

We keep talking about moving onto sporting and bouncy pitches but we never do it, always in the hope of: 'Just this series, just this one because we need a win, and then we'll do it', but that day never comes.

conspiracy theory: BD told rest of the world that this pitch is no good for bowling. India will come to BD rubbing both hands and thinking of 300+. Meanwhile, BD prepares the pitch for our bowlers advantage before the final showdown.

“We are playing on this pitch after two and half months. So it is important to get used with the pace of this surface. We saw that it is not a batting paradise. There was low bounce and a bit turn especially in the second half of the match. So at this deck our spinners once again might prove decisive in the upcoming series against India”—said Bashar.

Chawla must be licking his fingers after hearing this. A lot will depend on toss, I hope Bashar has his trick coin ready.

They will probably enjoy bowling on slow surfaces little bit more (makes it harder for batsmen to hit them), but I don't think it will make a big difference for them. They can adjust to pretty much all sort of wickets as long it does not have too much grass on the surface.

I believe there are strict rules about Cricket Boards/Officials influencing the preparation of international pitches.
I think the fault in this case lies squarely at the feet of the groundsmen.

Does not matter what rules say, the groundsmen are going to lose their jobs if they don't make wickets according to team management's wish. Atleast, that's how it is in the subcontinent.

Well, Badiul Alam, at least, seems to have confused the Indians.
New Age: Wicket keeps Shastri, Dravid clueless
Azad Majumder
Ravi Shastri has done a lot of pitch reports in his time in front of the camera but he had no clue about the nature of pitches Bangladesh have prepared for the first two matches of the series at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
The popular television commentator turned Indian coach-cum-manager was glued to the pitch on Tuesday afternoon after the team went to practice.
Having no other option Shastri turned to curator Badiul Alam to know about the nature of the wicket. Alam apprised him that it would be a typical one-day wicket with something for both the batsmen and the bowlers. However, Shastri was not totally convinced.
The former Indian all-rounder was surprised to know that the same pitch produced only 207 and 196 runs in two innings respectively during a practice match on Sunday.
Indian captain Rahul Dravid also expressed doubts about the wicket.
‘I had a quick look at the wicket. Though, I think it’s better to have an assessment tomorrow (Wednesday) after seeing it. There is still 48 hours to go.
‘It looks harder and there is lot of grass. Probably, it should keep low as the game goes on,’ said Dravid in the official press briefing.
‘The wicket is same for both the sides. I am happy to play on any wicket because I had never an issue with it.
‘In international cricket you get different wickets, different conditions and that is one of the challenges.’
