He is currently the leading Test scorer of 2010.

http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/...2010;type=year

He could have been the first Bangladeshi to score 1000 Test runs in a year if we had more Test matches coming.

Thanks Eshen for the stats.

Don't we have test matches against NZ this year at home? We played 7 tests this year so far which seems the highest.

Good to see Riyad at #5 Sakib at #8 and Mushy at #10.
So, 4 out of top 10 are Bangladeshis.

Why doesn't Tamim go to England, play county, then join the English team?

The longer he plays with us, the more mediocre he'll be. Right now, he's superb and improving...

he needs 163 from 4 innings against NZ at just under 41. perfectly doable. lets hope he gets it. personally i would like to see him end the year averaging 60 or more. right now its at 59+. and i would like to see another 100, preferably a big one of more than 130+, 150 would be ideal. if he were to score a 150+, i wouldn't mind him getting a single digit score in there somewhere (no ducks please).

Finally he is joining the league he belongs to.

I hope all of this praise does not go to his head and he keeps his feet firmly on the ground.

I still feel that after scoring a century, he throws it away, he feels that he has accomplished his goal, but he should think about the team, forget about the century and make another 50 or 100. I hope he does this in due course. Amazing, everyone was writing him of after the 2007 20/20 WC, wanted him banished to the U19 team, I felt sorry to see him demoted when it indeed happened, but BCB reinstalled him in the National team.Best thing that ever happened for BD.

usualy his records against NZ are impressive & at home against the Kiwis I am really confident that he will insha allah get 163 odd runs in 4 innings vs NZ to get 1000 runs this yr.
But it's important for him to be injury free.

I'd rather see Tamim get a 99 and a 98 and help us win than get 200 off 150 balls and we still end up losing. If Tamim's target is to make the team win at any cost, I believe he can score a double century. Remember his 150+ innings vs ZImbabwe? This is why I don't like SIddons' (and our fans') approach. Brad Hodge got dropped after a slow double century, remember?

Tamim has to look at his injury, I feel that he will have his operation after the Asia Cup, and maybe he will be out for another 3 to 4 months, so who know if he will play against NZ. He should really take care of his wrist.
