Maybe it's just me, but in recent times, you seriously can't go past Coldplay's 'X&Y' Album.

So simple, yet so complete. Even now, I can't stop myself from listening to it. Just an amazing Album.

Some of Coldplays best:

- 'Yellow'
- 'Clocks' (My all time favourite song)
- 'Don't Panic'
- 'The Scientist'
- 'God Put A Smile Upon Your Face'
- 'In My Place'
- 'Trouble'
- 'Politik'

And from 'X&Y':

- 'Speed of Sound'
- 'Talk'
- 'Fix You'
- 'White Shadows'
- 'The Hardest Part'
- 'What If'
- 'Swallowed In The Sea'
- 'Square One'
- 'Till Kingdom Come'
- 'A Message'

Seriously, thats like almost the entire album! And the bonus tracks aren't half bad either!

And if anyone likes what they're hearing, and demands more:

Download the live performances from 'Glastonbury 2005'.

Simply amazing. You wont regret it!

As I said before, by far the best band on the planet!

were few of their good songs fm the album NEON BALLROOM.

too bad the weirdo Daniel Johnson left the band and formed a partnership with dance maestro Paul Mac. but then again, if u marry Natalie Imbruglie, u can afford to be wierdo.

Aussie bands?? AC/DC and INXS! Man that Need you Tonight, Devil Inside and Elegantly Wasted suff was going around in my head for tooo long!

Queen is AWESOME. Freddie Mercury lives forever... BanCan, It'd be a shame not to watch Wayne's World and Sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody.

Another great british band of the past: Cream!!

How come no one's mentioned The Doors? And for 80s Punk: Billy Idol- White Wedding's a start.

If you're into 1990s alternative: Smashing Pumpkins, REM, Bush, and Pearl Jam had a lot of power in Ten! Foo Fighter's awesome: remember Monkey Wrench? 90's punk: The Goos when they started out!

So much talent in Australia at the moment.

Wolfmother would have to be our best band but it's hard to go passed Augie March and Grinspoon.

I'm sure End of Fashion are good but I'm not particularly fond of them. Other bands people seem to like that I should probably investigate are Eskimo Joe and The Vines but there's so much other stuff I'd prefer to buy.

Jet have had the most mainstream overseas success but have disappeared recently, something The Living End never look like doing. Having said that I can't see them breaking the market abroad any time soon, which is a shame.

What's also a shame is the career of Silverchair; good band with ability and a few good songs but never put together a good album.

Among the great rock bands and their songs/albums here are my personal favorites. I'm biased toward Organ and Electric Guitar solos since I love playing both but following has 'lil bit of everything. Hope you can try a variety of these. I know this looks like a radio playlist, there are just soo many good stuff out there!

* Classic Rock ('60s,'70s,'80s)
- Iron Butterfly (Song: 'In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida')
- The Animals (Song: 'House of the Rising Sun')
- Procol Harum (Song: 'A Whiter Shade of Pale')
- Jimi Hendrix (Song: 'Purple Haze','All along the Watchtower', 'Foxy Lady')
- The Doors (Album: 'The Doors','Strange Days','13')
- Led Zeppelin (Songs: 'Kashmir','Stairway to Heaven')
- Pink Floyd (Album: 'Meddle','Darkside of The Moon','Wish You Were Here','The Wall')
- The Beatles (Songs: 'Hey Jude','Back in the USSR','Strawberry Fields')
- Queen (Songs: 'Bohemian Rhapsody','We will Rock you+We are the champions','Fat Bottom Girls','Under Pressure')
- The Police (Songs: 'Message In a Bottle','Dont stand so close to me','Every Breath You Take')
- Dire Straits (Songs: 'Sultans of Swing','Private Investigations','Money for Nothing','Walk of Life','Brothers in Arms')
- The Who (Album: 'Who's Next')
- Stevie Ray Vaughn (Song: 'Crossfire')
- Eric Clapton (Songs: 'After Midnight','Layla','I Shot The Sheriff','White Room','Bad Love')

* Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Grunge, Alternative ('80s-Present)
- Scorpions (Songs: 'Still Loving You','Rock You Like a Hurricane')
- Def Leppard (Songs: 'Pour some sugar on me')
- AC/DC (Songs: 'Hells Bells','Highway To Hell','Back In Black','Have A Drink on Me','Rock n' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution')
- Guns N' Roses (Songs: 'Sweet Child of Mine','November Rain','Estranged')
- Metallica (Album: 'Metallica')
- Oasis (Album: 'Whats the Story Morning Glory')
- Smashing Pumpkins (Album: 'Siamese Dream','Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness')
- Nirvana (Album: 'Nevermind','In Utero')
- Radiohead (Album: 'OK Computer')

Solo performer...just do the occasional recording. I was recently offered a place in a band but turned it down because I didn't think I was good enough and am busy enough with cricket. Even in the offseason. Still might turn up to a rehearsal and give my two cents worth.

The Killers new single "When You Were Young" is out next month (great song)!

The new Album, "Sam's Town", is due in October.

Here are some good songs from their previous album 'Hot Fuss'.

For those not familiar with the band - the Synthesizers are amazing!

- 'Mr Brightside' (my favourite)
- 'On Top' (another great song)
- 'Somebody Told Me'
- 'Smile Like You Mean It'
- 'Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine'
- 'All These Things I've Done'

Wonderful. Add this to you list;

Allman Brothers Band: Midnight rider
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Free Bird
Strwberry Alarm Clock: Insense and Peppermints
Bob Dylan: Blowing in the wind, times they are a changing (I like the Hendrix version of 'All along the watchtower much better.)
Elton John: Funeral for a friend-Love lies bleeding

Has anyone mentioned the Audioslave? I liked their slow numbers - Like a stone, I'm the highway (maybe it's not the title). They're tune is very melow, but at the same time powerful.
