Shakib ignored.....why?
The No.1 ranked ODI all rounder, Wisden cricketer of the year of 2009 remains unsold while players like Kemar Roach (wasnt he in the WI B team that played us?) and Eoin Morgan gets a team, nothing more to say. What they have against BD players i dont know

Who cares bro? All that IPL shite and look where India ended up at the T20 World Cup? Couldn't win a single match apart from their upset win against us and an Ireland side!

Shakib didnt get selected because of his availability, the England-Bangladesh series is during that time , thats why most english players except Eoin Morgan(who was released by ECB for full availabilty) didnt get picked

Ya, no Pakistani players were taken. I think teams did not want to loose supporters by giving away money to the Pakistani players

Pakistani players werent taken most probably because they would have visa issues any of the team dont want to risk taking....its not very beneficial when you pay $750,000 for a player and he cant come into india to play

I feel for Shakib. He wanted an IPL contract this year, he will be disappointed by the snub from the IPL franchaises. However, I strongly believe this is the best thing happened for the career development of our young skipper. It will keep him hungry and he will have lots of fire in his belly in the T20 world cup to show his true utility in the fun format of the game. This will also allow him to concentrate more on national duty.
We already have plenty on our plate, the less the distraction... the better.

Ya, today's auction was a bit win-win situation for us. Either way we have some positives. I wanted Sakib to have the contract this year. But either way, no harm. Just wait, money will never be a problem for Sakib as he is going up the ladder over time with his performance.

I wanted Shakib to play there; it is supposed to be a big exposure. He is no Ashraful or Mashrafe. He was going to do well in any condition.
On a bigger perspective, this is good for cricket. They have ignored all the Pakistani players as well. The indians may not like the Pakistanis; but they love to watch the Paki players playing. So, IPL will lose its charm, leaving the best players of this sort of the game. Needless to say, IPL losing its charm is good for cricket.

I love this news. Al hamdulillah. Thank you IPL, thank you Modi, thank you ICC for scheduling a series during that time.

This is good for Sakib, maybe, no team wanted a spinning allrounder. anyhow, it is better he plays county cricket in England, it will help him better as a cricketer.

IPL 2 went off quite well even without the pak players.

this year it's all about availability. thats why most of the English players didn't get picked, because they will miss most of the IPL due to the Bangladesh tour, and thats the same reason shakib didn't get picked. I think pollard is worth everything single dime they paid for him, the kind of batsman he is, he will make it worth it.

Because Shakib won't be able to play any gamesL. We have the home series against England during the IPL time.
