The EXTRA-ORDINARY, famous, number-one batting line-up shuttered by the most ORDINARY attack??!!!
The title says it all. The lone fighter still being the old, not-bearing-the-new-breed-arrogance sachin ramesh tendulkar, who always had the bat do the talking in his career. baby, learn the style of a cricketer from the great man in your own team and more importantly how to hold the bat before holding the microphone.
I would now love to create an id and say something to the ICF and pak-passion, but let me resist since a fan is a fan, even a fool fan is a fan , he is not a representative of the nation.
btw, mods and others, sorry for this almost unnecessary new thread. but probably you can forgive me considering that it is only my second thread in all these years.

Happens. Even Australia had trouble against Bangladesh. And if I remember right, they were also no1 at that time. But India is still winning this match.

Surfer,
Can India win it ? Certainly. They are a very, very good batting side, and we all know Bangladesh can collapse.
But India are winning this match right now ? Thats delusional.

You are probably right. Australia managed to defeat us despite the setback in Fatullah, do you think India are equally tough on the field? Hold your breath for a moment before predicting the future.

Strictly going by the situation, we have lost one and a half sessions in the match. Though that does not dictate the course of the rest of the match, right now Bangladesh is well on top.
But it's still way too early in the match. Given the abilities and records of the two sides, there is more chance of an Indian victory than a Bangladeshi victory. A draw looks most unlikely.

OK, you think there's more chance of an Indian victory than the Tigers getting up.
What odds will you give me ?

At the risk of sounding arrogant, I would would say India has an 80% chance of winning this match.

I woke up to the Cricinfo headline, meant just for Sehwag.Could not help but smile. We should thank him for making Day 1 sweeter for Bangladesh.A bit of humility was long overdue.
I wanted India to lose at least one ODI to Bangladesh in the tri series. That did not happen. But I don't want India to lose a test, and I hope that does not happen either.
All I can say that the match is going to be interesting.Thank God for Test Cricket.

Our Indian friend has rightly pointed out the facts. Bangladesh have in their short span been in winning positions against Australia and Pakistan before and had lost it.
Maybe history might repeat itself or maybe Bangladesh has learnt from their previous lessons. Only we can tell after the next 4 days.
This still is a contest and may the better team win.

The fate of the match is probably more within the heads of the Bangladesh players than in the field - whether they have confidence and belief that the current small advantage could be turned into a match winning one. Every time they got into this position, they have displayed a "fatal lack of self-confidence". It will change some day but I am not sure it is there yet.

India still has the ability to win this match. If their batting is poor in the first innings, they will bounce back in the second innings and make BD work hard in the field.
Now, it also depends how BD bats, if they have the fortitude to overtake India's first innings score.
I really wanted BD to make India bat twice and try to make sure that not one of their great batsmen make a ton or double ton against them, also, to take the match into the fifth day.

yes India have got a good batting lineup and they wont be doing the same mistakes in second innings. Thats why its extremely important for Bangladesh to bat well now and make the advantage count in the end result.

I say odds right now would be: Bangladesh@$2.10, India@$4.20, Draw@$22.
Only reason India's still an ok bet is because there's still 4 days left.

I think odds come dominantly into Bangladesh's favour, once they've gained 100-150 run lead after their first innings.
I would predict India in their second innings to make 350.
Giving Bangladesh 200-250 to chase.
Are Bangladesh capable to make that score, on a pitch that becomes easy to bat on day 5.
SriLanka versus Bangladesh
Bangladesh 413 all out
And thats when Murali took most of the wickets. Compare the SL bowlers with the Indian bowlers we have to play.
Vaas > Zaheer Khan
Prasad < Sreesanth
Murali >> Ishant Sharma
Herath > Mishra
Dilshan = Yuvraj
Sl - 4 points, India - 1 points
Also
Sangakarra > Kartik (wicket keeping difference on that scale will make a difference, I wont be surprised if Kartik misses a few difficult chances and stumpings)
GO BD

What BD bowlers did is good but does not fix any out come yet.
BD was on top in Fatullah against might Aussies, Kiwis and in Chittagong against England when Enam jr. took 5 wkts in one innings.
We lost all those tests because of lack of consistency, strike pacers, etc.
So I am optimistic and enjoy today's performance this morning without being too much emotionally overcharged.

Shahadat or Shafiul needs to rear there heads in the second innings. The indians probably wont be playing Shakib at all.
