riyad seems to blow hot and cold...at this point, naeem is much better as a batter. both can be easily milked for runs by good teams, and i guess any economy rate around 5 is good for them (wickets are secondary).
but i now oppose naeem moving up the order. chances are he'd lose his touch. and he's not going to be able to boom boom at number 3 or 4. i want him to bat anywhere from 6-8, situationally. if we're 4 wickets down around the 40th over, send him in next to get his eye in and then blast away. but don't wait till too late to send him in.
he was key between us posting 245 or 260, which ultimately made no difference, but still, naeem played a great little cameo.
kudos to both him and riyad, more so than even ash perhaps.

You insane pagols. Mashrafe is captain. If not? Shakib. If Shakib dies too, then Mushfique.

I really liked the way Naeem bats, he puts lots of effort to hit the ball. When he decides to hit the ball he commits totally- no half measure are there and that's why he hits long way. He has got a good pair of eyes too.
It's very important that you put all of your focus and effort on the shot you choose to play.
I am really impressed the way he refused the single the ball before the last ball of the innings. It shows that he is totally in control and he believes in himself.

you know the funny thing that puts a big smile on my face now! before the match started, people where so concerned about why we need two allrounder who plays the same way (naeem and riad) ... but after the lanka match one has to surely see who actualy helped the team ---> riad with his 45 and a wicket and naeem with his last over miracle to set the target to 261 ... now i just wonder why people where so concerned for kapali over this 2 young lads! He went after the money and now i honestly think he lost his place permanently!

Well, you may say Kapali did all his heroics against lowly bowlers in ICL; but some of the bowlers were really good to be honest. And if Naeem, Riyad and Kapali all blossom; it's even better. Kapali as a backup isn't bad. I know he couldn't quite do it in his early years, but maybe the ICL blast was something he needed to reignite his confidence and touch.

Both Riyadh & Naeem are not true all-rounders. While Riyadh, based on recent Test form could stake a Test bowling role, would Naeem? No. Likewise, I don't see either of them as a Test class batsman just yet. They are what they are - good ODI bits-n-pieces players.

the way naeem hits those 4s and 6s...he hits it clean with lots of authority and confidence... no half hearted hitting.
What a misues of his batting talent.

note!!!
Bangladesh produces local and national hero once a year....hero stays as hero for a year, wins bunch of awards, they are on tv ads all the time
2006- Year of Shahriar Naffes
2007- Year of Tamim/AshFool
2008- Year of Ashraful (became a captain after few successful innings)
2009- Year of Sakib (became a captain after few successful innings)
2010- ???? i think it will be Naeem!!!
lol its funny how we think one player can change our team after few good innings

Naeem needs to utilized for the batting powerplay, so i think he should comedown the order. One mistake made in the last game was that they took the batting powerplay too late... it should start at 40-43 overs depending on the wickets at hand and how set the batsmen are. Last game Riyad and Ash was set, so there was excuse for them to wait until the 44th over. Anyways, i am still happy with the way they played at the end.
