Default If you don't say it who will know?

We are all cricket fans here and like all cricket fans and particularly like all Bangladeshis, we are often hypercritical to a fault. We get so caught up in the cynicism and in the perverse pleasure of giving vent to our personal prejudices, that we often fail to pause, and acknowledge and give thanks for the good and positive.

I too have been party to the same mob dancing on the bandwagon but I am going to start making amends.

My first shout-out goes to BCB's new live scoring capability via the local IT house, Marssil. Yes, we have criticized this initiative too but this thread is not the place for this. Thank you for this. It works and now us fans can get live coverage of matches and results for which we often had to wait hours or days. (I remember those days when I had to wait weeks).

Look at the excitement and interest for the recent England Lion and U-19 team visits. Look at all the DPL discussions and fights. I doubt we would have that much fan activity if we did not get such live coverages. It almost feels like being there.

So I do not know who were responsible for this - could have been the late Manzur bhai. Could have been the BCB President Mostafa Kamal. I thank them all. I thank Marssil and I thank the nameless developers who made it happen.

I am grateful to/for my parents. But i am lajuk and it feels weird(and formal) to thank them... Mind you, thanks/appreciation/saying 'i love you' time to time to our loved ones is a bit out-of-place in our 'culture'............

p.s. I just came back from the store where an automatic "thank you, have a nice day" was done, but in our country, we don't have these small talks during transaction. AND people tell us, that Americans are jantrik or materialistic. WTF

And there's a perfect word for "thank you" in the vocabulary. Yet we refrain...

Yes, thanks a lot to BCB and Mars Software Int Ltd.

I'll keep it in mind, and hopefully will be able to show my gratitude someday (probably in next BASIS AGM)

They did a great job on live score which we are asking Banglacricket to do for a long. No way an easy job but BCB made it place, well done.

Your expectation and advice are decent and normal but to get them from us is almost abnormal. A good and strong heart - which can overcome jealousy and shallowness, is needed to appreciate someone/something praiseworthy.

And thank you for this thread. My regret is you cannot teach old dogs any new tricks . May be still we are under our petty political culture - to criticize, not to appreciate. We are not educated.

Well done DigiCricket Marssill. Hope your design and development of scoring system for Bangladesh Domestic Cricket comes to full effect and gets approved by all corners of the world.

Thank you for making us follow our Domestic Cricket with bit more excitement.

Really I am thankful to BCB as this is the only time I was able to follow DPL live. Before the only source for me was the newspaper. It is a great initiative and hats off to all who has contributed to this project

And before I forget I will take an opportunity to thank BC for this extremely lively, interactive, interesting and informative forum !!! My passion for cricket has gone beyond my control after joining BC. I don't even go to FB as much. It has become an addiction now. Thanks Zunaid bhai for taking the initiative and all the mods for their time and services!!

Hear Hear
And I don't think its all about Digicricket - that was the Boss' thankfulness. I am thankful for a forum - in the truest sense of the word: a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged. I would add to that: exchanged freely. Thanks.

yes, the live score thing has been fantastic. job well done to the BCB and MARS!

now if we can get streaming of all domestic FC matches or one match each round, that would be great.

I was hoping y'all would go beyond the live score thing.

Ok, next shout out to, yes, Ash. Yeah, we get on your case but... Thank you for your Natwest innings and the orgasmic 158* against India in that Test.

Next shout out to Tamim for his giving jersey or t-shirt or something like that to a poor guy. Remember that incident? And was it also Tamim (Or Shakib?) who helped out the groundsmen with money?

Shout out to Ashraful: I will never forget that 87 against South Africa back when they were #1 in world cup which revived our hopes for the semis after devastating losses against countries from the southern hemisphere and on the same year, West Indies was as cricinfo described it sent "packing"

Shout-out to the fans who'd sent flowers and apologizes to the frightened WI players during WC11.
