may his soul rest in peace
I am a massive fan of his songs and I'm sure a lot of you are too. He is/was simply a legend.

Default Baul Somrat Shah Abdul Karim died

I don't know how many of you follow bangla music and bangla baul songeet. Who listen there is a sad new for u as Baulsomrat Shah Abdul Karim died today
http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesign/news-details.php?nid=105524

He was a competent representative of bangla Baula Gaan. I rate him just after Lalon and Hason.
For brief biography of his life follow the wiki linkhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shah_Abdul_Karim

Currently, Habib's music is dominating the bangladeshi music market - especially in the west. Abdul karim has massive influence there. Just take a look at who opened the thread - an abcd

A great loss for us but as many of you said previously - his music will live forever. Rest in peace. I pray his after life is fulfilling the way he fulfilled many of our hearts with his songs...

My Condolences.
This song "Age ki shundor din kataitam" is unconditionally acceptable as one of the best written folk.
Feed Back used one of his song as "Diner Aalo Nive Gelo" if I am correct.
Maksud once mentioned to AB that a few band musicians used SAK's themes and tunes to get quick fame while abducting the originality of the source.

Baul shomrat Baul Shah Abdul karim R.I.P

Bangladesh just lost a living legend. IMO He is one of the 4 biggest name in baul music along with Laon Fakir, Radha Raman, and Hason Raja.

Bauliana Rocks!
