Angry Tamim is highly doubtful for T20 WC :(

Tamim Iqbal\\\'s World Twenty20 prospects looked dismal after scans done yesterday revealed a bigger fracture than it was first imagined.

The left-handed batsman hurt his left hand while fielding in the Cyclones of Chittagong match against Dhaka Dynamites in the National Cricket League T20s on Friday and yesterday, he had MRI and CT scans which were not favourable. The fracture was thought to be hairline but now it looks wider and such a fracture usually takes 3-4 weeks to heal.

\\\"It\\\'s not too good. I still have pain in the left hand but we\\\'ll see it after five days and probably make a decision then,\\\" said Tamim who suffered a similar injury against Zimbabwe in the fifth one-dayer on November 5 last year.

The Chittagonian completely missed the Premier League and only played the vital Abahani-Mohammedan match after much debate.

He fully recovered in time for the tri-series that involved India and Sri Lanka earlier this year which was a good five weeks after the last one-day game against Zimbabwe.

After Tamim got injured on Friday, he batted at number four and scored a 24-ball 23 but now it seems the injury could possibly ruin Bangladesh\\\'s Caribbean campaign.

But chief selector Rafiqul Alam was optimistic of Tamim\\\'s chances, saying it would be healed in a short time.

\\\"I talked to physio Michael Henry and he confirmed that it would be healed in four to five days. There is no report yet on the injury,\\\" said Rafiqul

Oh GOD save us please. Save us.

That's really a bad news. We don't have tamim"s substitute.

Incase if he can't make, I will suggest alok kapali to replace him

but tamim is one of the bestbatsman in the world, wish his soon recovery

He shouldnt be brought back before he's ready. We shouldnt expect much from this T20 WC. It might be the future of cricket, but its not what we should focus on atm...

I'm fine as long as he's back for the Tests in England. And it looks like he will be...

But it's imperative they end in high note from T20 as it will causally lead them to perform better in the England series.

Indeed. I can't see why we are not in the 2nd round...

Default what's Sehwag talking about?

Source: http://shortofalength.wordpress.com/...dinary-sehwag/

Question:
As someone who constantly seems to be batting in the “zone”, do you think that Tamim also experienced the simplistic phenomenon of “see ball, hit ball”?

VS: What are you talking? You think anyone can just hit the ball when he wants? First he is short. Second he is left handed, they have many advantages so talent should also be assessed with regards that. Third, he does not sing bhajans when preparing for a ball. And finally he was facing Indian bowlers. I have hit many triple, maybe four (sic) hundreds against them in the nets. Especially Sreesanth. So please don’t compare him to me, he is not next Sehwag, maybe Bangladeshi version, but as we all know that is ordinary. Ask about some other batsman now.

Now, if i gather correctly, Viru is shorter than Tamim or abt the same height. So what does he have against him again?

Gets better...

J: Okay, how did you find Junaid’s innings, an excellent composed fifty that was the perfect foil to Tami…

VS: Boring. Thank you.
