Default Who do you see as domestic giants for years to come?

First name comes to mind is Ash. With so many batsmen coming up the pipeline with good techniques and temperment, I see Ash only getting intermittent chances at the national team in coming future. However, he will remain as one of the most valued players in domestic circuits.

Second one prolly is Suhrawadi Shuvo. He is a fighter who will continue to be a valuable player for his team. But his lack of talent, both with ball and bat, will keep him away from the national team, especially with such high competition among SLAs.

Third one is Farhad Reza. He is such a good utility player, but that's not going to take him beyond the domestics anymore.

SN will prolly bounce back and forth between domestic and international for few years. But we are more likely to see him eventually becoming a top executive for some corporation, than to continue as a domestic bully. I may be wrong though, considering amount of money top domestic players make nowadays.

i guess it depends on your definition of domestic giant....to me that means a player that will perform very well domestically but can't make it internationally. i'd put nazimuddin in that category, he's probably always going to score tons of runs at least in the FC comps, but i don't seen him making much impact at the international level. jahurul might be headed in the same direction...for bowlers, saqlain sajib might end up in this category, not necessarily because he won't be good enough for international cricket, but more for the fact that he has a bunch of spinners ahead of him and it's unlikely for him to break through because of that.

Yep Saqlain has 216 FC wickets. Not bad for a 24 year old. If he keeps on bowling well he ll probably finish with 500 plus wickets. And its so competitive he might not even make it to the NT.

Rokibul seems to be heading the same way. Also, I have a hunch that Asif Ahmed Ratul would be another domestic bully.

In other word, are you referring to Domestic bully?
I don't follow domestic cricket much but I didn't think Ash even qualifies to be one. Once in a while he scores a century in NCL and every time he does that our selectors bring him back to the international circuit and he fails again and his confidence dips. The saga continues and Ash never gets his grooves in either level.....sucks to be him.

I used to say that Ash always wins, ALWAYS. But looking at the price he went for in this year's BPL, his days might finally be coming to an end.

Ash the coach yet to come. apparently, he will take over coaching role once he retire. In fact he already done Lvl 2 coaching so not yet...I see every possiblity of him being a Bangladesh nats team coach...
