Wisden\'s \"khocha\"
Quote:
It will be a new experience for many of the tourists. Bangladesh is one of the most over- populated countries in the world, and one of the most polluted with clean air at a premium in the bigger towns. The squad has its own doctor with them just in case.

Wow! England team will die breathing Dhaka air. They have a doctor just in case one of them dying of breathing the air. What a joke! Wisden lamers

I don't think wisden has to do anything with it - they're just reporting that the England team has brought their own doctor.
The stuff about being the most populated and most polluted are true, aren't they ?

How one can resist the heavenly "fuchka" with "Chunnu's chotpoti".......and specially "Mama Haleem". If once ENG gets the flavour...no doctors of the world can save them.

south africans advised england to travel with a doctor and avoid a long stay in chittagong because dhaka has better cricket facilities. although chittagong has cleaner air, so there's a tradeoff.

I don't mind the facts of being populated or polluted. Its the last line that shows Wisden's(or this writer's) credibiliy, "just in case....". The sentence is definitly trying to ridicule BD which was not needed. A professional objective writer would have worded it differently.
Writer probably didn't breathe New Jersey air. Pollution at its majestic level

Talk about pollution.
I am told by a friend of mine who was in Bangladesh last month that pollution has mostly diminished in Dhaka as the auto-rickshaws are banned.
I hope our members on this site who are in Dhaka or any part of Bangladesh could confirm it.
Anyone?
