well for me its a tie between javed and mashrafe. but since i can only vote for one of them, voted for masri. because i'm biased.
by the way, those of you who didn't watch the tests, masri should've gotten more wickets. even then, to get 4 of the 6 english wickets that have fallen is already hugely commendable.

Javed has outshined any other bd player in this series... mashrafee would be come close only if he had taken a five for... he is a bit unlucky taking wickets, isn't he?

This poll should have only one option for voting--JO.
JO outclassed everyone with his consistency.
JO knows his limitation and he performed well despite his limitations.

MOS: Aftab Ahmed.
Even though JO scored 15 more runs in the series, Aftab had better average and SR. He helped us avoid a 2 day innings defet. Oh by the way He also got the wicket of Marcus Trescothick .

Although Javed Omar and Aftab Ahmed are very close to each other, but Javed gets the nod because of his consistency.

The table below summarizes what we all are talking about.
Aftab certainly has better striking rate, but what significance does it bear in Test Matches. Compared to Aftab Ahmed, Javed Omar not only scored 15 more runs, he also spent 145 more minutes in the middle and played 135 more balls. As far as the boundary goes, Javed is just 3 boundaries short of Aftab. When Bangladesh were getting all out too early in too few overs, occupying the crease for 2 hour 25 minutes more than Aftab and playing 23 more overs than Aftab certainly shows the most significant aspect of Javed Omar's contribution.
Javed Omar | Aftab Ahmed | Innings | Minutes | Run | Ball | Boundary | Strike Rate | Minutes | Run | Ball | Boundary | Strike Rate | Lords 1st Innings | 81 | 22 | 60 | 3 | 36.67 | 24 | 20 | 14 | 5 | 142.86 | Lords 2nd Innings | 59 | 25 | 44 | 3 | 56.82 | 60 | 32 | 33 | 6 | 96.97 | Durham 1st Innings | 113 | 37 | 83 | 6 | 44.58 | 53 | 6 | 31 | 1 | 19.35 | Durham 2nd Innings | 131 | 71 | 108 | 11 | 65.74 | 102 | 82 | 82 | 14 | 100.00 | Total | 384 | 155 | 295 | 23 | 39.24 | 239 | 140 | 160 | 26 | 87.50 |

I am not taking anything away from JO as he played great but Aftab played under more pressure than JO to take the match in 3rd day and its aftab's innings that will give more confidence to bangladesh in the ODI's just like Ashe's 158 gave our batsmen cofidence in the odi's against india. So in conclusion I give Aftab MOS award because his innings will be more confidence booster to our players than JO's.

Javed Omar is the deserving choice for the Man of the Series for Bangladesh. And by the way, are Bashar and Rafique being considered in this category in this poll from the negative perspective ?

well, if the question was, Which was the best innings by a bd batsman in this series ? It would undoubtedly be Aftab's unbeaten 82 in the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test. But a Man of the Series is judged based on the performance in the entire series and not just one innings. And Javed Omar should be the winner, outdoing Aftab marginally.

By far Javed. All his scores are above 20 and that is good for a BD player.

If you look at the comparison its just one innings that Javed did really better than Aftab. thats the 2nd test 1st innings. So as far as consistency goes, Aftab is not too far behind. and he also got a wicket. But aftabs magical batting in the 2nd innings had given him that little edge at the end to become MOS in my book.

Scoring run is important. But in test occupying the crease and playing big number of balls is also important. Thats the place where Javed did comprehensively better than Aftab. As mentioned in the comparison, Javed Omar played 145 more minutes and 135 more balls than Aftab did. Number of Run is higher, Number of minutes played is higher, Number of Balls Played is Higher, Level of Consistency is higher....Javed Omar performed everywhere. What else can we ask Javed to do to justify the MOS Award?

How about scoring some more runs? As an opener You are supposed to score a little bit more. Scoring 20 or 35 runs and then get out is not what we expect from our openers. Remember Aftab ran out of supporting cast in the last innings.
