Selectors have a tough job on their hands
The low performance of the Bangladesh team in the test series against England will certainly prompt the selectors to choose some players from the BD 'A' team or the BD U-19 team for the one day series against England. In such a case, the selectors Faruque Ahmed, Atahar Ali Khan trio have a very tough job on their hands.
First of all, suppose Nafees Iqbal, Aftaab Ahemd Gang is selected for the BD team and plays well in the one day series. Then what? Will they be selected for the Zimbabwe one day series as well, and remember - Zimbabwe tour's timing coincides with the U-19 World Cup.
So obviously those players who will go on tour of Zimbabwe will not play in the under 19 World Cup and vice versa.
And then suppose they are chosen for the Zimbabwe tour and does not perform there in Zimbabwe. In that case, Ei kul-o gelo, oi kul-eo gelo. The players will miss the U-19 World Cup as well as not perform in the Zimbabwe tour.
And don't forget, once the U-19 World Cup is over, some of the players from the BD U-19 team will eventually get into the BD national team.
So in the conclusion, I would like to say that I don't wanna be one of the selectors right at this moment.
But it is much easier for us to criticise them and the team management over their decisions on this board. :cool2:
