I've noticed that Bangali's are hostile people, everyone does care, people are discussing this on other forums, but its Bangali's that turn a blind eye to major things being built around the world.. lol

can't do anything about that now, can we ? lolzz

its not about risin buildings that matter its about the education and the food that people need!

About that building u praise about -have u every seen any member here discussing about high rise building that is being built in their country?

Well its sad to say that ur mentality is about how people looks at pak not how how they feel about it!

There is a saying

Dont judge a book by its cover.

It is you who is hostile. It is you who turns a blind eye to my repeated pleas. This is not a news delivery site that we run here. And as I said before, if you insists on posting news, the kind and way you have been posting, try elsewhere.

Sultanzz...let me give you some credit here...I think you are perfectly aware of how irritating some of your posts are, and you frankly don't care and are continuing to post in that vein just because you enjoy irritating us.

But then may be I should not give you too much credit. After all, buying into the hype about every civilian project (as you seemed to have) which is meant purely as a money-making machine for some fatcats in the city betrays some serious naivete on your part. Look at us. This is a Bangladeshi site. There are tons of nice and grand building projects going on in Dhaka, and other parts of Bangladesh these days but we hardly every mention them, unless it has some significance in terms of our history or heritage. Why should we hype and promote private developers who are out to make a quick buck and care for little else? You need to wake up and smell the coffee my friend.

I have been to Karachi, and like in other cities in South Asia, I can think of a million other ways that the money invested in such projects could have been better spent. But I am not sure if that will serve the cause of the rich and the powerful! Its ironic that such developments are occuring in Karachi which nowadays appears in international headlines mainly for tragic acts of violence (both ethnic and religious) and terrorism .

Besides having lived in North America for a while now, monstrosities (I quite like the word!) built of glass and contrete rarely excite me anymore. If you really want to hype a building why not do it for one which has some character and aesthetically reflects some of the indigenous culture (karachi has a lot to offer in this regard!).

Sorry fellow guys, but I couldn't find any reason to make such a fuss about sultanzz's posts. Except that he is using up some space of the server (which I find moot too, as comparing with the daily usage that will turn out to be less than negligible), I myself couldn't find any reason to get so stirred up the way some of us have.

It will be more appreciated if Sultanzz is in a position to inform us that Pakistan is one of the largest manufacturer of the raw materials e.g.cement and steel that will go in buildings like the one under discussion.

Yes the Dhaka mega mall is wonderful. Yet in a weird position. Maybe this thread should be locked off.
