Can someone propose a new name for ...........ing?
I am distressed, confused. Don't know how to start the thread. I want to rant, yell, fight, argue, agree, disagree with fellow bc members to make myself lighter and then feel better after the yesterday's loss to srilanka. Apart from the dismal performance in the fielding and bowling part of the game something tells me its not right. It can't be right. This is not the way things should be. I was watching Malinga bowl for the first time and i was shocked. It was a huge shock. Absolute beauty, sheer pace, line and length mixed with aggression, probing the batsman's uncertain corridors all the time, asking too many questions. Way too many. I don't know how to say it. This is just not right. I don't want to play with definitions and bio-mechanical terms of such bowling style nor do i have the energy to do so. Sometimes you cannot say what you want to say and sometimes you do. I cannot decide. I am distressed, confused. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. But i am hurt. Without the special bowling style of malinga i honestly don't think srilanka would be able to get on top of Bangladesh so easily yesterday. Its just not right, its just not cricket. Since ICC and it's umpires are silent about this recently, i tempt to think that this is not chucking. Malinga is not a chucker. It can't be right that Malinga and Murali are chuckers. This is an innovative style of bowling. An unique style of bowling which needs to be redefined, renamed, rediscovered and remastered. We need our bowlers to bowl like this. Am i being selfish? All the cricket playing nations need to have bowlers who can bowl like them. I know its hard to master this unique art but lets face it we dont have a chance if we cannot master this unique bowling. This thread is about taking initiatives. I am asking my fellow BC members to use their neurons and give me some innovative names for this unique but flawless style of bowling. What would you call a chucker other than a chucker since it is not chucking?

If I was the batsman, I would have complained to the umpire about his weird hair color. White ball may get lost in his weird black-white-golden highlights.

new thing coming to world cricket is called a SWITCH BATSMAN. SA is trying them out in the league. A SWITCH BATSMAN can bat in both sides so its going to be hell for a captain to put the fielders as he will have no clue which way he is going to bat...

Just to see how this thing works I tried his method of bowling, damn! it hurts! My entire left side became almost numb (so much pain). the balls went everywhere 2nd slip, 3rd slip, short log leg, extra short long leg. Could not control. But it had some zip to it, I tell you. Almost as fast as I could throw with arms not bend.

You guys are all acting like you have never seen a sidearm, slinging action before! Go dig up Jeff Thompson vidoes from youtube or something. Sidearm or roundarm delivery has been around since the birth of cricket. In fact until the 80s you could bowl underarm too! Obviously the degree of control you get with sidearm slingshots is not hight. That he can bowl that way and with such accuracy is what makes Malinga special unique. And for the LAST TIME!!! HE IS NOT A CHUCKER - stop crying sour grapes

How about calling him sour grapes for Bangladesh, i just couldn't accpt it. I want Grameen phone pacer hunt program to find a bowler with sidearm slingshot action with that degree of control and accuracy. Its easy for Grameen phone to find a pacer like malinga. They will just have to ask the participants to throw the balls and measure their throwing speed. Then they can modify them to look like a sidearm slingshot bowler like malinga. Or is it that simple?

Man I wish one day we have fast bowlers like his.. what do these players eat man?? How can they bowl so fast and we cant??? I think we have to start eating something other than BHAT, BIRIANI and GORUR MANGSHO..
Healthy diet and do some weight lifting so that they can get more power to bowl faster.. is that a god idea?
