I want to have one batsman short and take Shohag in the team. IMHO we can afford to drop either of SN or Riyad. A wicket taking bowler would add much value to the team.

Riyad can't be dropped as he is VC. I will have SN dropped for Gazi. 2 pacers, 2 SLAs, 1 offie will be a good bowling attack. But questions is, will they consider Riyad as that offie or Gazi. Riyad bowls well in longer formats and it was he who caused the damage in WI. Naeem can bowl offspin too. Ahhh too many bowling options!!

Shakib also has to move up. He should bat at 4 or 5. 6 is too low for him.

why do you Generalise a player by district e.g. Syloti King? is it wrong for a player to come from Sylhet and play for national team, I find it very negative that not only you but anyone pointing fingers at people just becuase they are from certain place in Bangladesh. do you hear people from Sylhet refer to players like Ashraful... The dhakaya King after so many failures? I like to point out that in the upcoming future most or majority of the pacers will come from sylhet. we have some young pace talent and need to guide and develop them well. This will be very good for bangladesh not just for sylhet. The country should come first before district. thanks.

I believe players like Pat Cummins (Aus), Milne (NZ) James Pattinson (Aus) was introduced very early at international stage. I don't disagree, maybe Abul needed bit more time domestically. Surely you need to motivate your fastest Pace bowlers?

Doesn't really make sense that we're playing with Riyad and Naeem. Both are similar type of players. We should be playing with just 1 of them. I see some people want SN dropped instead. Are people confident in Naeem batting at #3 then? I think we should be playing Sohag and Elias in my opinion.

Greatest motivation is wickets in FC level.

Elias can bat too, but only in FC. Anyways, I don't see how they can even think of a team without the greatest talent of the year, deserving of ICC's upcoming player award, Abul Hasan. Leaving Ashraful out was hard enough to digest.

I have no complain if we score 450+ with 8 batsman, but the probability is very low for that so drop Someone and get Sunny

then surely players like Tapash Baisya (177 wickets), Mohammad Sharif (277 Wickets) and Mahbubul Alam (133 wickets) and so on should walk into national team with eyes closed?

WI has 5-6 lefties. Taking another SLA (Shakib is already there) won't help us. Shohag is a genuine right handed off spinner unlike Riyad. Playing Shohag alongside with Naeem will put more pressure on lefties.

Sohag and Sunny both needs to play. Playing with 4 full time bowler doesn't work in Test. Riyad, Nasir can bowl few here and there but they are not full time bowler. I don't think we should play Naeem at number 3, let him play at number 4. That's the position he has been scoring runs in, no need to change anything around. I would play Naeem instead of Riyad, and Zunaed instead of SN.

Allah help Shakib and Bangladesh, If Elias does not play shakib has to bowl like 50+ overs as SLA alone in the 1st Test. Crisis Awaits us and Shakib's injury... help. I think Saqlain Mustaq is behind the inclusion of Sohag Gazi for the 1st Test.

As crappy of a team as we we are in Test cricket, I think, Elias Sunny shouldve been selected. Though, having Gazi brings a variey in our all left arm spin attack and he could be useful, as they are saying, against the leftie batsmen of WI squad. Nevertheless, I think Sunny has the experience needed to take wickets against top class batsmen. Both players have few centuries in First Class cricket and both are effective in domestic circuit. The move to bring in one or the other can prove to be pivotal because an off-form Shakib alone cannot be taking those 20 wickets we need..And Nasir/Naeem/Riad arent taking more than 3-4 wickets in total, I would assume..

Just drop Nafees/Zunaid/Mullah and pick Sunny and Gazi both = Win our second test.

Actually in Tests, we see teams playing with 4 full time bowlers. For example, Australia is playing with Hilfenhaus, Siddle, Lyon, and Pattinson, then South Africa is playing with Steyn, Morkel, Philander, and Kleinveldt. India usually go with Ishant, Zaheer, Yadav and Ashwin. England goes with Broad, Swann, Anderson and Bresnan. So it's not uncommon to play with 4 full time bowlers. Since Shakib is basically a full time bowler, that's why we're seeing the team management batting up to 8 and then the rest are filled with full timers. I don't mind that but I feel we should not overwork Shakib the way we have. Let him focus more on his batting while Sohag and Elias bowl the bulk of the bowling.

why can't the line-up not be like this:

1) Tamim Iqbal, 2) Shariar Nafees, 3) Junaid Siddique, 4) Naeem Islam, 5) Shakib Al Hasan
6) Nasir Hossain, 7) Mushfiqur Rahim, 8) Sohag Gazi, 9) Elias Sunny, 10) Shahadat Hossain,
11) Rubel Hossain.

on what basis is Elias getting dropped?

Yes, we should pick both ^^^ as Gazi can bat as well.

I wonder if the selectors have the courage to go beyond the Ashrafool!!!

You can't leave out Mullah!
He is the VC and did well against the Indies last time.

Why can't you leave out Nafees/Zunaid - one can be dropped to make way for Gazi, simple!!
