Default River Ferry sinks - Again!

River ferry sinks in Bangladesh
A ferry has sunk in Bangladesh, with 82 people so far confirmed dead.

Police say the MV Maharaj had about 200 people on board when it sank late on Saturday. But according to witnesses the number was higher.

This is so typical in Bangladesh. Doesn't the government do anything to improve safety? These ferries are always overcrowded. I have seen the ferries last year. They are SO old and don't have any safety measures whatsoever.

The question is not why it sinked. The question is how this ship managed to stay afloat for so many years.

When we visit Dhaka, all is good and dandy. But when we see the reality of life for normal people, its completely different....
