Default bluetooth headset & bluetooth enabled laptop

I've recently bought a bluetooth headset thinking that I can use it with my laptop. But I didn't find how can I use it.

I use belkin bluetooth adaptor with my laptop

Please help me find out how can I use it.

Bluetooth is the name of technology which allows for communication, just like "ethernet cable". However, two bluetooth devices sitting next to each other will only talk when they are meant to talk to each other...just like two computers connected with ethernet cables.

My understanding is, bluetooth headset is for your T-Mobile phone, and it will work on your phone only. Bluetooth adapter on your laptop can "hear" your bluetooth headset, but it doesn't have the program/protocol to understand what it means. Unless I'm 2 years back-dated, you may not be able to use your bluetooth headset on your laptop like you would use a set of headphone and mic on your laptop!
