Pack BD with 5 bowlers...
I am frustrated with all the speculation about who will be in the final 11 that I decided to open up own thread.
I would like to see BD bowl out a team at home in both the innings. Let's face it, our batsmen are not going to change overnight and we are likely to see another batting debacle. So why not try to bowl India out for a low score. BD bowlers have shown more improvement and competitiveness than BD batsments. I say pack the team with 5 specialist bowlers in the side.
- Mashrafee
- Nazmul
- Tapash/ Talha (if Tapash is injured)
- Rafique
- Junior
BD will have Aftab and Ashraful as part-time bowlers to back the 5. If anything having 5 bowlers should pressure the batsmen to stay at the crease longer, but as we all know, the top order will probably collapse. In the bottom order, we know at least two of the five have decent batting averages and can bat long sessions if need be. So why not 5 bowlers?!

what is the use, if ...
1) the players are not taking even the simple catches?
2) the fielders are not blocking the runs?
3) the wicket keeper is not effecting the run-out chances?
4) the capatain has no confidence in part-time bowlers?
can anybody tell, how this team is going to bowl-out a team twice?

Not a bad idea to field 5 bowlers and 5 batsmen. Since batsmen are doing nothing 5th bowler may take some loads from Masrafee ...

Yes.
If you consider Tapash, Rafique, Masrafee, Rana and Sharif as bowlers, then they will score more than our current top five batsman.
Don't know much about Nazmul, Talha and Jr's batting skill though. But I am pretty sure they will rearly score double duck.

picking genuine 5 bowlers for BD is bit of a risk even tho i am all for it. Nazmul/Talha will not trouble the scoreboard..so we have only 9 batsmen instead of 11 in the 1st test. So at least 2 batsman has to score more than 50+ among the first 5 to get a good score of 250+. I hope they do it this time. Insha Allah.

Yes I agree with BD Tigers, though I think 250+ is too low a target to set for ourselves even if we are to aim for a draw. We ought to score at least 350+ to have a realistic chance of surviving 5 days. You can inject as many bowlers as you like. The fact remains our bowling is too mediocre and child's play at the hand of Sachin, Ganguly and rest. I'm not too worried about our bowlers. It's batting that is our main headache. If our batsmen get their acts together, we might just surprise them (with a draw). Sad thing is, everything is too "iffy" with us. (Sigh)
