Your thread title is misleading. Ashraful is not going anywhere anytime soon. Please revise.

I'll be realy glad if bashar & rajin are brought back to the team. Atleast we'll have 2players with huge experience. Infact, statistics-wise bashar is still the best batsman of bangladesh!

Ashraful is a shame for BD team : after 51 test our "best" batsman has an average of "22"

Ashraful might be Out ...

Most of the time he gets out pretty quickly...

So I say, why "might"? Why not use "Will" based on track record?

Ash should be replaced by Naeem and Nafis should be replaced by Junaid.
But in futre they should try brining back in Javed Omar, Alok Kapali, Nafis Iqbal for test

Ash needs to go back to domestic cricket and sort out his problems.

while watching this test, i was chatting with a friend of mine, and we both noticed that ashraful tends to play at ease against spinners, more so than any other player on the team. mushfiqur is a close second.

however, ash is totally clueless against good fast bowling in test level. this is why he has an average of 12-13 outside of the subcontinent.

one possible solution, is to drop him to number 6 or 7, and promote mushy (riyad is fine where he is, he's no top order batsman) to number 4 or number 5. Rock plays as the other position 5 or 4, shakib stays at 6. i would persist with tamim and imrul, but SN deserves the chop after the way he played in both innings coupled with he hasn't played FC cricket in nearly 2 years. in his place i would bring in junaid, or possibly naeem islam. another guy i think we are prematurely not considering is mehrab jr. he had some good innings against NZ just over a year ago.

if ashraful continues to fail at 6 or 7 (i'd give him the rest of this series) its time to drop him and make him a situational player who plays only against India and SL in subcontinental conditions.

let him play first class cricket and maintain a 50+ average for 2 entire seasons and we can test him out. but a serious lesson needs to be learned, as well as technical refinements.

I think Ashrful should be given one more last chance.

ei bepoder shomoyee every body is leaving him.....

Without Ashrful in the team, there will be no more analyisis and statistic paralysis... no more interesting interview...there will be no fun in BC ... no more mushroom threads.....it would be a boring place.

This needs to be done Ashraful is not a Test batsman - he is an ODI player.
Furthermore, he only plays well when the pressure is on. We need a batsman who takes more responsibility and ownership of teh team.

He is like a government worker: he will sit on his butt all day, and only look busy when the manager is in the office.

Nah Asaad bhai. No position is good for him at this moment in Test. He used to play the fast bowlers with ease before but now he is very confuse how to play them. He is not good against the spinners as well (Used to be one of the best in the world against the spinners).

I think what he need is a break from Test cricket. And stop playing T20 cricket forever. This shitty cricket destroying all the batsmen in the world. He needs to play the NCL games and sort out his technical problems. He needs to find a different batting coach as well (Goni is not good for him anymore. Goni is good for teenagers).

Theres no one to replace him in the ODI team. He is hitting 50+ scores in every 5/6 games which only Shakib or Tamim can do so.

Yeah, and that exceptions include top five Test playing nations in the world - their players play more T20 matches than rest!

Ash should definitely be dropped for tests..he hasn't had a decent score in some time now..he bats like he's playing in an ODI..he just looks totally lost in the test arena..i feel like he should get the nod in the next test but if he fails then he can be in the ODI team but not test team against NZ..i feel really bad when ash plays so poorly..he's such a super talent but he hasn't put it 2 good use..i just think overall ash is just not a test batsman..he's a player who likes to go 4 his strokes and should just be in the ODI/T20 team..even in ODI's he's been inconsistent..the selectors want him just because he has more experience but i dont see it doing any good..

What might happen is Ashraful "might" get dropped for the 2nd test, or maybe the NZ series, and what "Will" happen then is, Ashraful will get a century and a few half century or 30+ 40+ score and he will be back in the team for the ENG series. and selectors will be like he's in great form so we have to let him play.
