My good friend who is 21 is born and brought up Aussie (background Bangladeshi ofc) but he is a real talented cricketer and plays high level cricket here in Sydney (plays one and two levels down from state level cricket). He was called to train with the BD team during the ODI World Cup in Aus and impressed the management. Got a contract under Dhaka and now he is in the squad for Bharisal Bulls in the upcoming BPL. Im so jelly cos he tells me about the lavish lifestyle that he is living in Sheraton and all the national players he is tight with and stuff. Take me word for it that is a real good cos i train with him here and there whenever he is free for a net sesh.

^ Wow. So third tier domestic cricket in Australia is equivalent to reserve level cricket in one of our BPL teams? Aussie cricketing structure is hella strong!
Anyway, good luck to Tahmid, hopefully he can work his way up to the Aussie XI one day.

They all wear Panjabi on eid days. Even Sarkar.
I think that qualifies all of them as Punjabi.

What's punjabi power? I don't see Aus, SA with any panjabi? All hype to make themselves happy.

Punjabis are genetically stronger and fierce competitor. Look at Virat Kohli, The great Khali etc. All champions and ultra aggressive. Imagine you get a bowler with Mustafizur's skill and Khali's aggression. Wow wow wow

If your read SC history, you will see that the Punjabi, Gurkha were the paid soldiers of the British. It was the aggression of the Bengali (Surja Sen, Khudiram, Bagha Jatin, Titumir, Fakir Manju Shah, Haji Danesh, Pritilata, etc) actually made the British to leave. In 1971 Punjabi soldiers felt the pain after losing to the Bengali.

I think Javed Omar's family came from Gujrat (not Bihar). Jahangir Shah Badsah, who played for the national team, is also half Bengali (his mother is from Iran).

You missed the Mongolian and the Afghan. Well Rizia Rahman wrote a very well researched book named "Bong Thekey Bangla". According to that book, a significant number of Early Bengalis have their roots in South India.

Hes in the Barisal Bulls squad but he is most likely on a more bottom tier contract. He is a top order batsmen who bowls part time spin. Me saying hes in the BPL squad doesnt mean he is guaranteed games rather he is there to gain experience playing and training alongside national players. All BPL teams have low paid contracted youngsters in their squads. Like im sure someone like Pranto Sarkar who is BD u16 player is also in the squad in one of the BPL teams. Doesnt necessarily mean he is going to play matches as such.
Taskin Ahmed was in the first edition BPL squad with Chittagong Kings before he made his proper debut in BPL2, but he wasn't officially announced that he was a squad member in BPL1 rather he trained with the players and developed his game with national players. Management do this to give the youngsters exposure etc and they also do this with players who they think have a lot of potential in the future.
Atm Tahmid's game is probably a step down from Bangladesh state level cricket but he is probably going to be a regular in BD state level cricket in the not too distant future in Shaa Allah (i.e. Dhaka Metro, Chittagong etc.). Like he has already made a name for himself here in Sydney Grade level cricket. He made his first grade NSW level debut at the age of 16 with Doug Bollinger bowling to him LOL.
Like think abt it he has already trained with the likes of Mushfiqur, Sabbir, Taskin, Tamim, Shakib, Mominul etc. for over a month. Hes personal friends with Taskin and Mosaddek. The amount of things he is learning and taking in by spending time with all these national players is massive and so vital in terms of developing his cricket.
