ঘাড় ঘুরিয়ে মুখ থেকে ছুড়ছে আগুন। ক্ষিপ্র গতিতে পঞ্চাশ ফুট দেহটা চলছে এঁকেবেঁকে। ‘ভিনদেশী’ এ দানবীয় সরীসৃপ যেন স্বাধীন বাংলার সবকিছু ছারখার করে দিতে চায়।

যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের ফাঁসির দাবিতে শাহবাগের তরুণ প্রজন্মের আন্দোলনে সংহতি জানিয়ে এবার বর্ষবরণ উৎসবের মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রায় এমন একটি কাল্পনিক প্রাণীকেই হাজির করবেন চারুকলার শিক্ষার্থীরা।

ঠেলা গাড়ির ওপর কাঠের তৈরি ৩০ ফুট ফ্রেমে চেপে শোভাযাত্রার সামনে এগিয়ে চলবে এই ‘ড্রাগন’।

আয়োজনকরা বলছেন, স্বাধীনতার ৪২তম বার্ষিকীতে যুদ্ধাপরাধীমুক্ত বাংলাদেশ গড়ার প্রত্যয় নিয়ে হবে এবারের মঙ্গল শোভাযাত্রা। শত্রুবেশী ‘ড্রাগনের’ সঙ্গে ১৫ ফুট দৈর্ঘ্যের টেপা পতুলের রিকশা, শোলার কুমির, ঘোড়াসহ বাংলা ও বাঙালির ইতিহাস, ঐতিহ্য, শিল্প আর সাহিত্যের নানা দিক উঠে আসবে এতে।
