Default Your TIGER squad to beat the BLACKCAPS

If we could inspire Akram to avoid KFC (Papon easily could by offering Akram a position in BCB that he is looking for...) and thus make more time to select a squad of hard-working, positive, talented and inspired with killer instinct tigers to win a test or two against the kiwis for the upcoming series...

If Akram is smart enough, he could even come to BC and borrow ideas from Gowza, Tiger444 or NadSTAR and so on...

Here is the killer squad who could eat the Kiwis alive from "Akram - version 2" >>>

The TEST Squad:

> Tamim
> Anamul
> Mushy
> Mominul
> Musaddek
> Shakib
> Nashir
> Robiul
> Rubel
> Razzak
> Gazi

>> Al-Amin, Enam Jr., Mullah, Naeem, Marshal

Please help out Akram with your killer squad >>>

I would take a test win at any cost...if we don't win a test against the Blackcaps, we are doomed for good...

Thanks KP bhai for the compliment. I believe that for the most part the squad has picked itself thanks to some good performances by some of the players. The selectors should not have a tough time picking a squad.

So here is the squad for the 1st Test that we'll most likely see

1. Tamim
2. Anamul
3. Naeem
4. Riyad
5. Shakib
6. Mushy
7. Nasir
8. Gazi
9. Razzak/Enamul
10. Robiul
11. Al-Amin
12. Rubel
13. Zia
14. Mominul

I'd say the selectors will have to make a choice between Enamul or Razzak. Elias has a slight chance but don't see him beating Razzak or Enamul. They could take both Enam and Raz but I'd rather have whoever missing out in the playing XI to be playing in domestics rather than just sit on the bench. We already lack quality bowlers in domestics and if we take both out, then it'll hurt the quality of the DPL big time. So just pick 1 of the 2.

The other tough decision will be between Mominul and Marshall. Ideally both should've been able to make it but since Riyad is the VC, one will have to miss out and it is likely Marshall that'll have to get snubbed once again. Mominul has been good in his chances in Tests and also has done well in the A team and domestic circuits. So he should be able to make it.

Rest of the players should be able to make it comfortably.

Agreed. With all due respect KP bhai, Mosaddek is still only 17. Sure he's a big time talent but let him play in the U19 team and domestics. Then he's got the Academy and A team. So plenty of time for him before he thinks about the national team.

Its a good thing that we can't fit all the domestic performers into any playing XI. On the other hand, many of those performers are likely to only be domestic bullies. That being said, perhaps guys like Naeem Islam were being mis-utilized by Siddons. I don't see how a player can hit 120 in English conditions against a pretty decent Lions attack, and not know how to hold the bat at international level.

While we're not guaranteed to win anything, I don't think winning the ODI series will be a big deal, or as big a deal as the BanglaWash, unless of course we 3-0 them again. A 2-1 win would be just fine as it would show that we can beat some of the established sides at home consistently enough. Even losing 1-2 wouldn't be a disaster since we've already won enough games to justify our position (4-0 vs NZ and 3-2 vs WI).

I'm more interested in the Tests. With Zimbabwe humbling us every which way, I'm interested to see how the boys respond in the comfort of their own turf. In particular, what do we do with the seam attack. Robiul won't get the same assistance he did in Zimbabwe, and NZ's batsmen are significantly better. Who partners him? Is Rubel fit enough? Ideally I'd like to see Nazmul or Masri in the mix, but both seem certain to miss out, in which case I'd like to see an Al Amin.

I would persist with Gazi over Razzak, and would take Enamul over Razzak too.

So my squads (in batting order) would look something like this:

Test:
Jahirul
Tamim
Anamul
Mominul
Shakib
Mushfiq
Nasir
Gazi
Robiul
Enam
Al Amin
(bench = Sunny, Naeem, Riyad, Rubel)

ODIs
Soumya
Tamim
Anamul
Mushfiq
Shakib
Nasir
Mominul
Gazi
Razzak
Rubel
Mashrafee
(bench = Robiul, Nazmul, Enam, Al Amin)

Way to early for moseddek, he's had one good u19 series and the recent domestic list A and that's it really. Certainly a hot prospect and it will be interesting to see the rest of his DPL season.

ODI is our strength so there is no point experimenting. We have a pretty complete set of players for ODI. We are only without Ash and that is probably the only spot that is there to be taken by others.

Tamim
Anamul
Shakib
Mushy
Nasir
Mominul
Riyad
Mashrafe
Razzak
Gazi
Rubel

Extras: Robiul, Zia, Naeem....... Enam Jnr

Now for test, well we are bound to lose arent we? and we keep thinking about playing safe in this format but it is getting us nowhere. Plus we are gonna be home after a long time, So time to utilize this opportunity

Tamim
Anamul (cant think of anyone else)
Naeem
Marshal
Mushfiq
Shakib
Nasir
Gazi
Enam
Robiul
Al Amin

Reserves: Mominul, Rubel, Razzak........Riyad
Marshal, Naeem, Mushy. They will be the pillar of our batting attack and Gazi, Enam, Robiul will be the bowling. Al Amin, Nasir, Anamul our x factor and Tamim, Shak... well surprisingly i dont have high hopes from either of them in tests... Whatever they get is bonus.

u r right. he played 3 match in the lower middle order, he was kind of dudhvat type then with big stars in that level like asif, anamul, taskin, liton das, soumya, naeem islam jr, noor hossain.

now let him lead and set example, which he already did with england under 19 tour.

there is another star in that tour: mehedy hasan. dont forget his name. he had noticeable contribution too

i'm torn as to whether to give naeem another chance batting up the order in both tests and ODIs, or whether to continue with mominul or whether to give naeem further chances in just ODIs and give mominul more chances in tests (since he did alright so far in tests whereas in one-dayers he hasn't been so good).

the other thing is where anamul should bat. he's begun as an opener, and i think that's fine in the shorter formats but maybe we should put him at #3 in tests. the only thing with that is that we don't have a viable option for 2nd opener so we'll be stuck with jahurul.

i'm thinking for tests:

1 tamim
2 jahurul
3 anamul
4 naeem/mominul
5 mushy
6 shakib'
7 nasir
8 gazi
9 enam/razzak/sunny/whichever spinner
10 robiul
11 al amin

as far as the bench goes well zia, mominul/naeem (whichever isn't in the team), razzak/sunny, marhsall?

i'd have nazmul if he's fit

ODIs:

1 tamim
2 anamul
3 naeem/mominul
4 shakib
5 mushy
6 nasir
7 riyad
8 gazi
9 razzak
10 mash
11 nazmul/rubel/zia/al amin

i think the teams are pretty set with only a couple of spots up for grabs like the 2nd fast bowler, the 2nd opener and another spinner.

i think with the #3 spot opening up in tests that it's obvious to put anamul there, at least for the next couple of series until we can once and for all figure out whether jahurul is going to start making bigger scores or just remain as he is. if jahurul doesn't manage it then we might have to try anamul as test opener but we can cross that bridge if it happens. both naeem and mominul have showed good signs as test #4's (actually so has mushy so i think we are pretty set for the #4 spot - the long term #4 is looking as though it will be one of those 3), #5/6 are obviously taken up by shakib and mushy as they are good there, #7 is nasir's as he's been great there. despite his poor form i think gazi should be selected again due to what he's so far shown in international cricket, robiul is an obvious choice for tests after the last series, the most open spots atm are the other spinner and the 2nd fast bowler.

for ODIs, anamul got a ton as opener, we could move him to #3 but who is there to put there that is ready? #3 is a bit out of position for naeem/mominul but naeem has batted there recently for the national team, and i think mominul can adjust. again shakib and mushy are good at #4/5, nasir great at #6, riyad has done well recently in ODIs and comes in at #7, gazi i explained above, razzak is one of our best ODI bowlers ever, mash the same as razzak and as above the 2nd fast bowler spot is quite open.

Why Jahurul again? Why experiment with these fc bullies who are sissies in int level..Its not the end of the world if anamul opens..And jahirul will go in the first 20 balls guaranteed so anamul is pretty much an opener even at #3..
