Well i feel really sorry for Sanjamul. This is no way to treat a player. He debuted on a pancake pitch and struggled like all others and yet he gets dropped after one game.
Kala Bhuna, the best dish that will make you come back for more, please do not go to fancy restaurants in Boshundhora or Dhanmondi, try it locally in beloved Old Dhaka.

As it stands now, BD and Windies are tied on 72 rating points; windies on 8th, BD on 9th. SL on 94 rating points on 6th
If somehow the current series between SL and BD ended in a draw: 0-0 BD will go past Windies and jump to 8th position with 74 rating points; while SL will lose a rating point and not move from their 6th position
If BD wins the series,1-0 BD will go past Windies and jump to 8th position with 78 rating points; while SL will lose 3 rating points and not move from their 6th position
If SL wins the series, 1-0 SL will only gain 1 rating point and remain on 6th position; while BD will lose 1 rating point and remain behind Windies on 9th position

The pitch should be even more flatter I reckon. There's no point going for a bowling pitch if Shakib is unavailable. People are criticizing the pitch for the first test, but I honestly wouldn't given the circumstances. I want to see the first triple hundred by a Bangladesh batsman.

Because winning is not paramount?

Then get ready to see the first quadruple hundred by a Lankan.

Back in 2005 i would have accepted this mindset but not now. I want to see a tank turner and a closely fought match. Doesnt matter if we lose but we have got to believe in ourselves

This is the weakest Sri Lankan team in history which is without Mathews. This team got spanked by everybody past 12 months. So we should believe in ourselves at least when we are playing at home. Need to give our spinners a surface they can fight on. Hiding behind a pitch against Sri Lanka would be a pathetic way to end the series.

But our spin attack sans Shakib is at least equal to Lanka's. Only if our fielders hold onto chances incl WK Das. If we had Shakib, we'd crush em. Herath averages 40+ in BD all time to Shakib's low 30s. Yes, I'm aware IndYeah might stroll in to try and cajole me into accepting another asinine "wager", lol.
But the risk with total bowling friendly wickets is that it allows the team with a weaker bowling unit to hit back. We lost to England in Chittagong in that manner and beat Australia in Dhaka. Lyon is a far superior spinner to any we have and we are lucky we avoided a 2-0 whitewash to AUS. Just got home by 20 runs. Same way India won in Johannesburg and nearly won at Capetown.

This Lankan team did manage to draw a Test in India and whitewashed PAK (granted super weak post-MisYou).
But I would also like to see a rank turner, although that would give SL a great chance to steal a win too. But we got the flat pitch and padded our batting stats...now time to give the batsmen a test.

Lets battle it out with them. It will be an interesting battle that will show our real skill. Whats the point playing test cricket if we cant even challenge Sri Lanka at home. If this team had Sanga Jaya Dilshan or Murali i would understand.
In a sporting wicket even without Shakib BD should have the upper hand, making pancake means you are completely nullifying your own home advantage, makes no sense. Preparing rank turner would be a huge gamble, might backfire massively.
