Surrey is a very strong team! But isnt Thorpe in the team? Anyway i think it will be a heck of a fight against Surrey, them being favourites though. But i feel Bangladesh will feel comfortable playing in Surrey cause they have turning wickets.

Surrey's homeground is the Oval.

But Bangladesh will play on...

Sussex won the comp the season before last but really struggled last year despite having one of the best squads around. Chris Adams, Ian Ward and James Kirtley. Also, I don't think that's Dion Nash, it's Christopher Nash, a 22 year old batsman who has lived and played in Sussex all his life.

That was Sussex's first ever championship title for more than 100 years, thanks to Mushtaq Ahmed!

Looks like this is going to be the toughest practice match for BD.

Can anyone tell us about the Hove ground? Seaming? Batting?

BanglaCricket has complete coverage.

Check the front page, where we provide tour bulletins and summaries.

Also you have the current schedule in the right hand side of the fromt page.

And if you click on the Series link from the main menu above, you can get to the complete coverage of current and previous tours. You might need a hard hat. We are still fleshing out the older series and tours.

Remember BanglaCricket is more than just the forum. I urge all of you to go navigate the links and explore. You will be surprised as to the depth of what we have.

Sussex is in great form.

I guess left arm pacer Lewry and leggie Mustaq will cause lots of trouble for BD boys. Don't forget about Kirtley!

How long ago did any of our (not current) players face Mushtaq Ahmed before?

I remember we played Murray Goodwin before the 1999 World Cup last, in the Meril International Cup?

This will definitely be a stern test for us...Sussex just convincingly beat (by an innings and some) Warwickshire, the defending champions!!! They are in red hot form. Here is the BBC match report

not current?? what do you mean

anyway, I think among current players only Golla and Sumon faced Mushtaq Ahmed, at 1998 Independance cup.

match link

Golla scored 17 out of 43 balls before getting bowled by Mushtaq Ahmed (IIRC, he attepted a big sweep). Sumon didn't give him his wicket, but fell only for 15 (36 balls), attempting to clear Saqlain over mid-on (again, iirc)

edit: Cricinfo StatsGuru confirms that it's the only match he played against us

If a county can beat Bangladesh what hope do we have against full English team.

First of all, the chance having a result out of this three day game is very slim. Even though Warwickshire lost their game in three days by an innings, I beleive our boys are good enough to hang in there if things go bad.

Secondly, Sussex is a very good team with England discards like Adams and Kirtley and ex-internationals like Goodwin and Mustaq.

Most importantly, their players seem to be in good forms whereas most English test batters are struggling at this point.

So, I don't think a bad show against Sussex will mean we will be buldozed by England. I am hoping our boys will learn a lot from this game.

I think Navid is under contract with PCB, So he is off to WI. In that case he will not be playing.

bring them on. if they got mushtaq Bd got rafiq and enamul. If there is turn on the wicket I hope Bd will play enamul and see how he gets on.

But enamul is the trump card. England traditionally have weakness against spinners. As Rafiq is a must it is utmost important to find out how enamul plays in practice games. If he comes good, Bd can go in with 2 pacers with aftab filling in 3rd seamer position
