But you are correct. If you go back to school days, you d probably remember the star sports players were not necessarily the best students. And those who excelled in both, doubt their parents would encourage/allow them to pursue sport.
And those talented individuals who do choose sport, often stop studying, and have no other parallel careers. Not unusual for cricketers from other countries to have other day jobs.
This "Lack of Intelligent" players could also explain why Sri Lanka is struggling. They ve pretty much lost the generation of sharp students of the game. The current lot are no comparison to the likes of Mahela, Sanga, De Silva etc.

Well the best student of the Bengali dept. becomes a professor, but the famous Bengali poets are not always the best students. The best student of the business school works under a successful businessmen who was probably not the best student. The best student of political science becomes the political adviser of a successful politician, who was probably a mediocre student.

Shabbir performance in the last few t20 matches. Not even considering his form in other formats.
1, 0, 16, 3, 2, 5 ,19
Instead of looking to improve his form. He is busy in taking pose, talking trash or kicking ball after a catch.
Great attitude.

This what I dislike about him. He is in the worst form of his life, and he shows such attitude, swagger after a catch it’s just seems he is one of those that easily gets happy and forgets what’s his own performances have been of late. He needs to be focusing hard to improve his game, sort his issue out!
