...So what is going on with finding a new Head Coach?
Salaam people, posting after quite sometime.
As we are all drenched in the 2 back-to-back impressive victories by our boys, i am just wondering about it.
SJ is the interim HC and has been doing a good job. Even in test, we had some good performances, even though we lost. I can see the change in mentality somewhere.
So who is going to be our next Head Coach? Are any news out regarding this?
Please share your insights!

If we win this series, then why change? Obviously something is working. Fielding has been good, bowlers have been keeping it tight. Batsmen are playing with a plan, trying to occupy the crease.
Instead of going on another massive hunt for a HC, just keep these three and perhaps get a specialized batting coach. Also we should get another McIness/De Winter type of coach for the Under 19 team so that we get better trained players from age group cricket.

If you notice there seems to be this buzz, spirit in the team which was prevalent in Asia Cup. At that time Law, SJ, JS were our coaches. This was clearly missing under RP, or maybe our guys dont like to play away from home.

Ya, I don't think BCB is actively looking for a coach after the first innings of first test... they look to have trust on SJ... . If this series goes well ... Then why to disturb this setup...??
And I am in favor of a bowling Head coach, because they are better equipped to guide our batting ... We have had enough of batting head coaches. Bowlers POV was missing for our batsmen/Team Plan... At the same time, he can also guide the pacers.... Which is of course a matter of some concern at the moment....and keep SM for the spinners...we need the spinners to be fully equipped with all possible varieties....

One thing very important we have to remember when searching for a new Head Coach:

Its all about working as a 'team' a coach is a coach and doesn't have special powers to make the his team succeed just by snapping his fingers. Keep everything where it is and just find a right batting coach.

Sth that Stuart Law said he wants to develop a champion team, not team of champions. SJ seems to be implementing that. Very much team effort in the first 2 ODI's, and winning without our best player.

If we win series against West Indies, IMO no need to change this combination. It works well. So why will we search Richard Pybus time coach who has no passion to teach our boys?

If we have good specialized coach (batting, spinner, FB, fielding) , and really good coahces for development squards, do we really need to spend more for high profile head coach? May be what we need is a low profile coach who is a good manager and let the specialized coaches run the training which some high level guidance from head coach.

More than a head coach we need a batting coach now.. I think Shane is doing a decent job as a HC.. But this team can't go on for long without a good batting coach specially when some of the new guys just came into the lime light who definitely need some extra help to improve their batting..

Arektu jalay dei. I've thought all along that SJ should continue as HC, with IP as assistant/batting coach. SJ's experience working with a Test team will be invaluable for him to step up to a permanent role.

Ota kichu na. Eta dekho. Pont is a bowling coach though. Why would you hire a specialist bowling coach as a batting coach? We already have a bowling coach...

I think SJ has done a tremendous job with this ODI side. The players seem rejuvenated and hungry for success. He carried on the momentum of Asia up. He talks less and shows results. Mash bowling really well and Raju had his moments in the first ODI. Stick with SJ

Great!
Like the inputs of some members here. Frankly, i do like SJ as well. Though he is not high profile but less talk and more work from him is getting the job done. Apart from the losses in test match, i see positives in mane aspects.
Been quite sometime for SJ being with our boys. Pretty sure the mutual understanding has developed.
Keep Saqlain as well. It should be a good coaching team.

Salam,
I think its a pretty good set-up at the moment, Spin Coach: Saqlain Mushtaq, Pace Coach/HC: SJ we just need a good Batting coach now that can teach our boys about technicques. I don't mind to have any of this guys as our batting Consultant: Micheal Bevan, Brian Lara, Ricky Pointing and Saeed Anwar. If saqlain mustaq can be successful as Spin Coach, I am sure the players I listed will also and share valuable experience in the dressing room.
