Malaysian Airline MH 370
Enjoying the Malaysian Airlines MH370 disappearence mystery and analysis. So many probable theories, just like the NatGeo show "Air Crash Investigation"/"Mayday"!
But obviously very disheartened that it comes at the cost of a tragic incident possibly involving human lives.
So, what do you guys think happened?
Btw, follow live updates about the MH370 as it happens - Mirror.co.uk Live Coverage

Enjoying? I'm sorry but I feel that was in poor taste.

Well, it may have come off poorly but I do separate such incidents into two. The Mystery aspect and the Tragic aspect. And I did say, I feel very disheartened about the possible loss.
EDIT: Why do you think there are investigators? Because they "love and enjoy the mystery". That's their duty. Sadly, it may have a price.

Of course not. I cannot imagine what the relatives and the loved ones are possibly going though right now! Not knowing about the disappearance and yet holding onto a small hope that they are out there somewhere. It's the worst situation to be in, if you ask me! Can very taxing mentally and physically.
I did say, I am enjoying the mystery aspect of the disappearance and not the actual disappearance.

Well FYI, the Pacific is way beyond. Here is a map:
The suspected area is the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand. And there are theories which suggest, the aircraft changed its route just before disappearing off the radar and now Straits of Malacca is a region of interest as well.
But keeping that aside, if it did sink, the impact would have definitely left some debris, no?

As an outsider I am pining to know the answer - can't imagine what the relatives are feeling.
It seems unbelievable that in today's day and age when I can track an android or iphone they can't find a plane.
Granted there is water and impact possibly - but with all satcom and rugged designs (yes the recorder does survive) they cannot pick up a beacon. With great antenna array technologies with 10 satellites diverted for this - they just cannot pick up a beacon.
This is a doozy!

It might take a while, but I think they will be able to eventually. When Air France Flight 447 crashed somewhere between Rio De Janeiro and Paris back in 2009, they were eventually able to find some missing remains of the plane and the recorder (in 2011). I hope they can get to the bottom of this. At least it will give the families some closure and authorities can investigate and address issues accordingly, so this doesn't happen again.
Here is a documentary on Air France flight 447 if anyone's interested.

A US firm uploaded and had asked users to study the map/satellite images and help them find any objects which they might suspect to be MH370. So many users logged in, their site crashed.

Just guessing if that they are still alive - there could be some secret passage or hidden area/island where they got lost. or there is a hidden city under the ocean or Any spiritual body taken it somewhere...
I pray that they find all the dead bodies and return them to their relatives safely and hope this is just a natural odd accident and they can recover the black box and resolve the issue..

Here is an explanation. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-n...hantom-3228868
Another major claim, an oil rig worker apparently saw what he believed to be a burning plane. He could see it for 10-15 secs before disappearing. The plane apparently, was in one piece.

Here is a detailed report regarding that news. http://www.businessinsider.com/oil-r...-flames-2014-3
Latest is, the Vietnamese aircrafts did not find the debris as suspected by the Chinese satellite images.

I can't take this anymore - this is an eternity in today's standards. I understand the last disappearance took a long time. But the nations are talking over each other and diametrically opposite at times. It's terrible.

US and India are probably searching more towards the west now. Near the Andaman.
There are rumours that the plane travelled on for another 4 hours post last contact. An ex-BA pilot put forward his theory that - sudden depressurisation of the aircraft would have left the pilots with two choices: 1. Deploy the gas masks 2. Turn back to KL. He went onto say that, maybe the pilot did turn his bearing towards KL but not the exact airway route as there might not have been enough time, hence the plane might have traveled west on a parallel route on auto-pilot until fuel ran out and is somewhere near the Indian Ocean. This sounds so goddamn scary!

I knew something about it but could not explain it more technically.
From wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_dumping
Aircraft have two major types of weight limits: the maximum takeoff weight and the maximum structural landing weight, with the maximum structural landing weight almost always being the lower of the two. This allows an aircraft on a normal, routine flight to take off at the higher weight, consume fuel en route, and arrive at a lower weight. There are other variables involving takeoff and landing weights, but they are omitted from this article for the sake of simplicity.
