And more importantly, he was able to capitalize on his patience at the later stage. Zaheer's radar was lost because of a few boundaries being scored off him. It was a pressure game for both sides and the scenario could have changed in either direction. Even Misbah could dismantle Zaheer. You can imagine what would have happened if Afridi were at the other end.

phew. Tired of arguing here. This pitch was slow. Scoring quick runs was NOT EASY. And the RR was 7 when umar akmal got out. If you discout boundaries hit by Umar, the RR would have been a LOT higher.
Again pointless argument, since rotating the strike in the middle overs is FAR more easy than scoring 10 rpo in the final overs.

Love how this thread is now about the IND-PAK semi final. The difference in that match was the first 10-15 overs that Sehwag/Tendulkar set up for India. Misbah and Younis are very good ODI players its just you can't have more than one in the same team and especially batting so close to each other in the line up in today's ODI team and expect to chase targets regularly upwards of 250.
We of course have our team stacked with those types of player : Imrul, Rakibul, Mushfiq, Mahmadullah and even Zunaed and Naeem choose to or are instructed to bat that way. So our chase capability gets limited to 220ish.

I tend to agree with Baundale here. I watched the match with hundreds of Indians and Pakistanis at a sports cafe in London. My good friend was cheering for India. I for the first time was a complete neutral. May the team plays best win was kind of my philosophy. With, perhaps, a soft spot for Tendulkar -I could add. Misbah was actually playing a right kind of knock -he could have rotated a bit better- knowing he is more than capable of giving it a good tonk right at the end. If either Afridi or Razzaq stayed 2 or 3 more overs and with their striking abilities the game was there for the taking. Just ckeck out Misbahs T20 stats. This guy can put the foot down.
Sorry about the off topic.

Hope the game works as a motivaation to shine for some of the players. Bowling may be too weak for Australia. Wish I could watch the match though.

as I said.
he deserves to play,he is slow but in a format where we struggle to play all 50 overs we can afford a consistent performer like him.
His consistency is better than Mushy,Ryad,Naeem,Ash,Alok,Aftab,Junaid etc
