Default Nothing less than a 4-0 win against Kenya !

Kenya's most recent assignment was with Zimbabwe, a 5-match ODI series, tied at 2-2. Looking at the results, it is difficult to guage the two teams. Results swung in 'ding-dong' fashion and did not show a pattern. Kenya's win in the 3rd ODI seemed more due to a freak collapse of Zimbabwean batting. So I would rather not look at that result. The fourth ODI seemed to show that Kenya was inadequate in batting as they had got out for a low score for the second time running. Anyway, both Kenya and Zimbabwe seem to be unknown 'quantities'. The unknown being which slots they would occupy in a league which in any case is far below that of Bangladesh .

Bangladesh, has improved tremendously in the last 18 months or so. With the Tigers getting used to the idea that they are as good as most other test playing nations, they will very soon become a very formidable team.

With Shahadat Hossain, Mashrafee, Rafique, Rasel, Aftab Ahmed and Ashraful, Bangladesh seems incapable of losing to Kenya.

So I feel a 4-0 series win is a must for Bangladesh, unless you wish to disturb that oft spoken of grandmother of a great English opening batsman of the past.

Definitely... I won't get peace until a 4-0 triumph over Kenya

If our top batsmen, i.e. Ash, Bashar, Aftab, Shahriar, etc play sensibly and consistently, BD's bowling is adequately equipped to constrict the Kenyans.

Althoug we were the favourites, BD team still lost the first two games against Zimbabwe last time.
I somehow think Kenya is a tougher proposition than Zimbabwe, because the Kenyans look all fired-up whenever they take on BD. Our results against Kenya is 1-6 so far, which is not good at all.
I hope BD will eventually win the series but not unless we try very very hard. The Kenyans won't give up easily. So we better concentrate on one game after another rather than planning to hand over a 4-0 whitewash. Who knows- if we are too complacent we might be the one in the receiving end of the 4-0 matter.

Yes, I think you are right. .. and we are talking of the same cricketer...

I am sure Bangladesh will be able to make a statement in the series with Kenya, provided there is no complacency.

Everybody of us understand the potential of Bangladesh team and there should not be any confusion about the result of the series. Only thning is required is to keep the game simple. I think there should not be any hurry to prove we are better. Its simply winning that counts.

So no need to try scoring 400 or even more. Bangladesh should play professionally to ensure that they are not losing the match and then try to increase the margin of winning.

To be honest... this is what I am afraid of. Bangladesh is already pretty well-known for their own 'freak collapse' also.. and often out of panic. This may cause our downfall on some occassions. Otherwise.. BD should whitewish the kenyans pretty comfortably.

I will be happy with a 3-1 split. However, we have to win the first game we play. The weather is becoming a factor. So result can be skewed by one or two washed out games. It is highly likely that we may have one or two games decided in D-L method. I feel the method is flawed and favours the team with sluggers at the top of the batting order. We do not have sluggers except for Rafique who is late order batsman (and on rare occasions when Ash clicks). In my opinion D-L favors Kenya. If the weather prediction is on the side of gloomy and rainy day, I would include Russel ahead of Rajib unless we are going with three specialist pacers. Russel is economical and can make use of the gloomy whether.

Yes! That was true. But this is not going to happen to many times with our current crop of batsmen. While it is also true that our batsmen like hit irresponsible shots but that does not make the automatically sluggers. I mean the batsmen in the mold of Kevin Peterson and Symonds.

I will just be happy to see us winning the series.
In paper, BD is much better. But Kenya is a team which has shown better application of their ability.

Most of us are dreaming of easy success. I just hope, we dont get shocked at some results. And Kenya has the ability to do that!

Well said, Warlock. Indeed tigers should concentrate on match by match to seal the series win.

A 4-0 whitewash would be the sweet revange against our arch rival, but anything can happen in one day cricket on any given day. In this context even a 3-1 win is acceptable. But BD should go with all forces and try everything not to give Kenya any single chance to dominate over them. Complacency is the last thing I want to see in tegers' faces.

Even India can not hope for a 4-0 against Kenya, you are forgetting, this is ODI, where a team like Bangladesh can beat a team like Autralia, anything can happen. One loss out of 4 matches is not only possible, but also, very probable.

That's a good one.

I am sure that I'll be disappointed very much in this series like every series, and losing just 1 match will mean totally disgraceful to me.

As much as I would like BD to win 4-0 I would like Kenya to play well and make BD earn every win. Mind you I am not saying BD will win 4-0 by any stretch of the imagination.

There is absolutely no garauntee that we will even win the series we may lose 3-1 which is very much possible.

I feel really bad for Kenya not getting the recognition they deserve.

If they had the proper infrastructure and government suport they would have come a long way now.

I do hope they get test status one day and cricket becomes more popular there.

If BD wins first two, they will sure lose the third. If not, they will lose the fourth.

The more I ask of my team, the more I get disappointed. Now I have given up. To me Bangladesh's winning all 4 games is the same as 4 heads in 4 tosses. (1/16 = 6%)
