Australia are 97/5 at lunch.
Maybe somebody underestimated England...

Maybe somebody did
I am not holding my breath though, Gilly still there. BUT unlike other sides England have a strong pace attack with 3 bowlers who can bowl 90mph. England have a deep attack. It will be hard for Gilly, but he is a legend.

For Australia Gilchrist is the key ..................He has scored runs in the past when australia were in similar postion ,,,,,i wish he scores some runs against this quality England attack ........
For England Flintoff is the key man .He has dismissed Gilly couple of times in Natwest series and he can quickly polist of the tail .......
Aus will still manage to get score around 250---300

I agree about your score prediction. Gillespie is a real pain in the backside for bowling attacks, and Warne has made two hundreds in county cricket this year.

Why is everyone so shocked Freddie is bowling 90mph+?
He has been doing it consitently for over a year now, he is a genuine quick.
I can't do highlights from TV sorry, don't have the equipment.

126 for 5; Gilchrist is going after the bowling and is 26* in 17 balls. This session may well decide which way this Test goes.

These Aussies have proved their arrogance this morning.
They have underestimated this England attack, tried to smack them all over the park only to realise this England attack is too good for that.
They deserve to be in the position they are in now.
Thanks for you bad shots! You have helped us a lot

Flintoff to Gilchrist, OUT: Flintoff gets sweet revenge! Full and
shaping away late, Gilchrist goes for the big drive, the ball does
just enough to beat the middle of the bat and take the outside
edge before disappearing into Geraint Jones's waiting glove

Ponting has taken very bad decision. He is not a good captain.

No one undererstimated England. Throughout the buildup the theme was how mainly on how close the 2 teams were in terms of overall strength.
It will be very interesting to see how the australian bowlers perform against the English, specially given Bell, and Pietersen;s lack of experience.
Not that experience counted for much in case the australian batsmen!

It will be interesting. We may bowl Australia out cheaply, but our batting is a bit iffy at the moment.
I am still not getting overly excited.

Well, well, well!!!! The bad start to the summer for the Aussies have continued its tail in the Ashes! The pommies must be going nuts at Lord's. I DONT want to see England win, and at the same time, I WANT to see Australia lose! Such is my distaste for both these teams!

Very BD like batting by Aus. RR of 4.88, shots all over the place no staying at the crease.
Aus is treating this England team the way it has treated other teams in the recent past. Bad idea.

Let's see how the England batting fares. I hope they won't be rueing the absence of Thorpe if they lose wickets quickly.
