Default Photography Enthusiasts/Everything about photography 2017 onwards

There was threads years ago on photography. I jsut recently visited that thread and it seems like that member PUCK was an true expert in this field. Such quality people from all trades we had here. And in that thread there were some begginer enthusiasts who by now should be expert i suppose

THis is a new thread for our newer generation. I am sure there are a lot of enthusiasts here. Please share your experience, photos and your expertise in this thread. What camera you using, what lens, and most of all share pics and specs.

I finally got into photography last night. And ordered my first camera. Will be posting pics once I become better than rest of you (atleast most of you).

Please share and gloat.

I'm into photography. Have been using my phone for its brilliance in close-up shot of flowers. I am interested in the Nikon D7000. Hope to get it soon.

And how are you hacking your phone to achieve some manual controls ? I think manual control of point and shoot cameras are where the money is.

Anyways, I got into photography LAST NIGHT. haha.

Part of my self-improvement, self satisfaction, life is too short moves. I don't expect this enthusiasm to last longer than 6 months. But that's enough time to KNOW it theoretically atleast. :p

For me, I adjust ISO, and the object distance (distance between object and camera). And the hardest part is to hold the phone perfectly still

These is a very good thread.

Photography is an art form. And it is a very powerful medium. I am particularly a big enthusiast of B&W (that is black & white) photography, taken with conventional (non-digital) medium format and 35 mm cameras and printed manually. With chemical and in a dark room. I took 4 elective classes on B&W photography during my undergraduate architecture studies. Once I got through learning darkroom technique, printing on archival paper and processing films, I took particular interest in architectural photography, naturally.

Also I did and still do a lot of nude photography of both women and men under different light condition, mostly of very old, aging people. I am particularly interested in texture and contrast of aging skin under very low wattage incandescent and other artificial lighting conditions. Some of my old subjects/models from back in Georgia, years ago, had passed away. I have their permission to print and publish these as the photographs are my work and they have given me their consent when the photographs were taken. The photographs however are copyright material and I have the sole right.

If the mods allow and give their approval, I will post some of my nude as well as building photography work. For the sake of aRT.

Do you guys think mobile photography technology will ever overtake DSLR, heck maybe it already has.

We may even start to see phones dedicated to just photography.

How much will you charge me if I want to do a spread? Do I get a BC member discount?

Nice pic of your rainshower fruit tree. It's the distance you are creating - the depth of field- by moving close/away to/from the object that is causing the background blurry effect. I don't think ISO has anything to do with it. I think if you use a camera that gives you control over aperture (adjusting depth of field) and possibly a better sensor than your phone camera, you can achieve this much easily.

Again, at this point, my day 1 enthusiasm is limited to theory and not from practice :p

Let's say it's not the tree you are shooting but you want a pic of a person while the background blurs. I don't think there is an easy way to achieve that effect without a camera with manual controls. You are not gonna go really close to that person are you?

I think mobile phone's camera these days are extremely well made, and on top of the hardware, the pics are augmented by software processing. hence creating brilliant pics. I think with iphone, the right eye you can create some magnificant pictures that can top ppl taking pics with DSLR. But as of now, from pure technical pov, dslr is way way more advanced than camera phones.

with mobile phone pics , even with simply a click of a button you can alter your pics with all these software generated filters..it's amazing. But you can also do a lot of things with let's say an adobe lightroom (software processing) with raw pics taken via DSLR that picks up a lot of information.

anyways...

where are all the enthusiast with their EOS 5D cameras ? more pics

If you guys want to know of a good plugin for Photoshop, I can recommend portraiture, it is awesome for closeups and portraits. I use it for retouching, masking and removing pipples.

Heck it's even good for catfishing.

My backyard has more insects and animals than West Indies combined. Seriously we have some dangerous stuff in Australia.

In an average Aussie Backyard we have all these.
