Should Gayle be the Permanent Captain?
WI under Gayle looked really fired up and ready to do their best. His field placements and bowling changes were surprisingly spot on. Even Gayle himself started to bat more responsibly, especially in the last ODI. Don't get me wrong here, I've been a Sarwan loyalist since his remarkable bravado in the WC03, when he almost delivered victory after getting his head bandaged, but maybe Gayle will do better. What do you think?

Only watched bits of the series but Gayle really did look the part.
That said, I haven't come to a judgement on Sarwan yet. I've read nothing but positive statements about his character and qualities as a leader so I'll wait till he's had a few series to prove himself.

I think Gayle did a good job, but can't see him as a parmanent captain based on this only. Let Sarwan show what he can do, then we'll see what happens.

Good to see WI with such possible depth in captaincy.

Sarwan should be tested before Gayle is made permanent.Having said that,I really liked WI under Gayle, and hope it should be the same under Sarwan

Gayle has a very positive and aggressive attitude which reflects in hi sbatting as well. Aggression is what WI needs right now. A few more series will prove if Gayle is the right captain for WI. I do expect him to take up the job and do it well.

he was just the stand in captain and things started to look good for him. i would like to see him as captain. he is attacking but it would be cruel if they don't give sarwan a chance.

2011 should be in mind. Not 2008. Age wise I don't see Gayle surviving that long. Sarwan should have more chances. Then Bravo, Samuels (I like him).

CG's West Indies just thrashed the Netherlands and it proves that WI is far far away from the Associates while Bangladesh and Zimbabwe still in the totter.

And Chris Gayle 85 not out - ohh those Scotch (merrily beaten in every match in BD) almost produced a scare. But GAYLE made the difference. Cheers!

Gayle really well against England and should be considered ahead of Sarwan. I feel bad for Sarwan his injury came in such a bad time.

gayle is good enough to captain his island team but his inconsistant batting, poor body languague and general disdain should rule him out of any leadership position.
